"There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots."
Yeager was the exception to the rule.

    R.I.P. Chuck Yeager.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Read his autobiography if you haven't already....very good.

They changed a few things when they portrayed him in "The Right Stuff" but it was mostly accurate.  The thing I remember is that in the movie he reached the edge of space in his plane and then lost control and ejected.  In real life he lost control and landed it.  It was a different incident where he lost control and ejected.

I had no idea he was still alive.  It was the move The Right Stuff that brought his achievements to my attention.

He had a pretty active twitter where he would interact with people asking questions, etc.  Pretty interesting.
