Favorite group:  Hmmm, tough one.  I'll have to go with Neil Young and Crazy Horse

Favorite supergroup:  There has been a bit of debate here as to what makes a super group, so I thought I would defer to Wikipedia's list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_musical_supergroups#List_of_groups).  But then I noticed that there are no jazz groups on that list.  WHAT?  That is an egregious error.  There have been many amazing jazz groups that, according to Wikipedia's definition of a super group: "A supergroup is a musical performing group whose members have successful solo careers, are members of other groups, or are well known in other musical professions" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supergroup_(music) ) , should definitely be included as supergroups.

So all that said, I will go with Sun Ra and the Solar Arkestra.  Despite Ra having returned to his native Saturn, that band still performs under the leadership (at the ripe age of 96!) of longtime veteran Arkestra member Marshall Allen.  The Arkestra has had at lest 44 members over the years, probably several more, but I can't find a definitive list.

Heard this song by L.A. Rats on the radio and I was thinking this sounds a lot like Rob Zombie. Surely enough it was a side project along with Nikki Sixx, John 5 and Tommy Clufetos.
