I just started watching this show and I'm hooked. I have Season 1 on DVD and will be getting season 2 when it comes out. I have no clue how they show this on CBS- I can't imagine its good when censored.

Can't wait till it comes back. Been watching from day 1. But then again I was a fan of Michael C Hall from Six Feet Under. such a different character yet he has played them both so well.

The best show on tv by miles. I can't believe so few people seem to know about it. I think season 2 was even better than the first. I really can't wait for the third season to come out. I agree about the opening credits, so cool! I believe they won all sorts of awards for that opening sequence.

Too repetitive. Like most US TV shows. CSI, House, NCIS, Dexter, they're all the same. Repetitive murder mystery with 5 minutes of the main story arc to tie everything together. It's alright watching 2 or 3 episodes, but can't watch a whole season without being bored to tears. The other problem with Dexter is that all the characters are so unlikeable (with reallllllly annoying accents).

Dexter is so cool...a show about a serial killer who kills serial killers...that's so cool! I'm gonna have to acquire the DVDs one of the days...

I disagree, where Dexter succeeds in my opinion, is in the fact that each series is only 12 episodes long - they don't try and string it out over 24 episodes like many of these types of drama. I don't think all of the characters are meant to be likeable either.

i've noticed the characters aren't likeable as well... and thats what makes the show so great. why the hell am i rooting for dexter to kill everybody? he is a sick bastard who doesnt feel- im not supposed to enjoy watching someone like that haha.

Dexter is a beyond amazing show! Yeah, the opening titles are great. Season 1 is phenomenal, and the second season is right up there with it. Doakes is the man! He's like the worst actor (but I think his overacting is done on purpose), but he's so great and I love how he's always on Dexter's ass!

The third season should start around September I would imagine... just glad that the writer strike didn't screw with the production. By the way, the soundtrack to this show is unbelievably good. With the spooky, eerie music found throughout the show, it also has some Cuban songs to accentuate life in Miami. It rocks!

I read in a couple of places that season 2 comes out on DVD in august a few weeks before season 3 will start.

The show is pretty intriguing, it really goes deep into the psyche of a serial killer. Still would like to see some more violence though. :D

I have seen it on CBS and it's not bad. They actually said that it wasn't hard to censor it because it really isn't very gratuitous.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

Wow after 3 months this thread is back. Glad to see some Dexter love.

Unfortunately I haven't seen Season 2 yet- I'm waiting for my girlfriend to watch it (we are far apart for the time being).

She likes it even more than me.

I hope it's more like the first half of the series. Seasons 5, 6, and 8 were all subpar (at least compared to seasons 1-4). Don't get me wrong, I still watched and enjoyed it, but seasons 1 and 4 are masterpieces imo.

Hopefully they can redeem themselves from that horrible last season.  One of the worst finales of all time....I remember laughing through the whole episode it was so cringeworthy.  I read that the original showrunner from the first 4 seasons is back so that's definitely a good sign.

I'll have to go back and watched.  Binged the series up to the last year or two and agree that it dropped off.  Really was an excellent show at peak.
