What sad news to hear of the passing of one of the best.
My Pop grew up back east and was a life-long Yankees fan. In the mid 60's we went back to visit my grandmother in PA and Pop took us up to NYC to catch a Yankees double-header. Both Whitey and Mickey Mantle were late in their careers and were both heroes of mine. That day I had the extreme pleasure of getting to see both Whitey and Mickey play that day. What a thrill!

R.I.P the great Whitey Ford.

We lost Kaline, Brock, Gibson, Seaver, Fernandez, and now Ford...  Man that is some hefty HOF'ers we lost this year.

    Yes, sadly so.
If there's a baseball heaven, there's one hell of a good game going on there!
