i dig the riff. the effects on axl's vocals are weird. but i like the song. live would probably sound good.dankind said:I see that they also added "Locomotive" to the set list before lockdowns.
I can't begin to tell you how relieved I am at not having to hear that one.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -

Garden of Eden is one of my faves. Not sure why. Maybe the ridiculously simple video. Maybe the fast pace of the song. But I've always been drawn to it.
juxtapose that with the slow heartbeat bass and droning of coma, with the dramatic crescendo, love them both.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -

I was really impressed when I saw them a few years ago. I had not seen them since the Metallica tour in 91. Axl sounded mediocre but he’s never had a good live voice. But they were committed, playing three hours straight outdoors in Miami in August. That’s not easy. I’ve hated them for 25 years but I was so impressed with them that I was supposed to see them with the Pumpkins at National Stadium before the ‘Vid.0

I saw them in Seattle, the first tour after they got back together. It was pretty good, so good, that I felt it was almost too polished. I felt like they predetermined who stands where, how long you spend on each side or the middle. It felt a little a little too smooth

My favourite GNR show is actually a guns n replacements show. It was in Edmonton around 2006. It was old school Axl doesn't show up until after 12am kind of thing. Any fan knows that and books the next day off work
The show was amazing.  We had such a good time.   It went until 2:30am in the arena.   Axl even did a Duet with Bubbles from trailer park boys.. lol. 0 -

My favorite was when I got to see them open for Aerosmith on the Permanent Vacation. They had something to prove and played like it.Zod said:I saw them in Seattle, the first tour after they got back together. It was pretty good, so good, that I felt it was almost too polished. I had super low expectations because of my disdain for Axl so the fact that they were on time and played hard made it a winner.0 -

FAKE NEWS! Lies! is my favorite GnR work. The acoustic side is flawless, honestly.cp3iverson said:

I like it but you’ve got 4 songs recorded in 1986 that were already released. Then 4 post-Appetite songs tacked on at the end. Its like Lost Dogs to me.mrussel1 said:

While Lies has its great moments, the electric side is mostly cringe worthy cash grab by the label bullshit. One in a million, take away its homophobic and racist lyrics, is just a sorry song. Move to the city. B side at best. Actually the first three songs. 🤢🤢 If Lies didn’t have patience, it would easily have been forgotten. IMO of course. But is it even the same genetic makeup of Appetite or the Illusions. Not even same gene pool.Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.0

Mama Kin cover is not cringe worthy in the least. Move to the City is good too, at least compared to lots of other shit they put out there. Even throwing away Million, I still think the other three acoustics are excellent.pearljammr78 said:While Lies has its great moments, the electric side is mostly cringe worthy cash grab by the label bullshit. The acoustic side is awesome. Used to love her is just a cool fun song. But patience made people buy that album. Mama kin. Cool. But is it the keyboard action alone on 14 years Not even close. A garage band can cover Mama Kin. A classic band writes 3 full albums of heaven.Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.0

Hey I think they're a bunch of aholes (Axl specifically) and spent 25 years despising them. I'm just saying of their releases, Lies, particularly the acoustic side, is their best work IMO.pearljammr78 said:The acoustic side is awesome. Used to love her is just a cool fun song. I really like the acoustic side of lies too. I kind of made an extended version by adding some of the extra acoustic tracks from the appetite box set. Acoustic version of move to the city is awesome. Pretty good cover of jumpin jack flash.
As much as I love GNR their creative window was so short. Appetite, Lies, UYI1&2. 87 to 91. I'm not sure why I don't dig the spaghetti incident more. It's kind of up up my alley. A disc primarily of punk covers. I am curious if they'll ever put out something new with the current version of the band (or if they're going to tour on the merits of 3.5 albums forever).0 -

Aside from the lyrics to One In A Million, I agree. Those have not aged well.mrussel1 said:
