  • Myrtle Beach was great last night. Johnny was in good spirits and it was the best version of My Name is Human I have ever heard live. They were all having a good time and it was packed inside. Only disappointing thing is that only one song changed between now and when I saw them in Atlanta late last year. Snagged the setlist though!

That is awesome! Sounds like Johnny had a better night than when I seen him in Pittsburgh a month and a half ago... I also think when they played My Name Is Human it was the best song of that particular night.
  • Part of it was because his brother was there last night. Which funny enough is the second time I have been to a show where his brother was in attendance (Charlotte).

So my show rankings so far just for fun:

    1. Charlotte 2017
    2. Atlanta 2019
    3. Shaky Knees 2017
    4. Myrtle Beach 2020

  • Normally I don’t care about autographs, but this is cool to have. Only a limited amount were made available and there was no price difference vs the regular CD so I figured why not.

Nice! I still need to buy the CD lol. If I buy it I will probably never throw it in a CD player. I just like having a physical copy of my favorite band's albums.

Saw them twice this weekend! Shaky Knees set and a late night show the day after at a small venue! I am so happy to see and hear that Johnny truly seems happy right now. Only one new song which is hard rock and I dig it. Confirmed that the next single will be out June 15th!

He is! Not as much because Kofos can cover parts now, but he still plays a good bit. I just happened to take photos when he didn’t.

I haven’t seen his telecaster recently (I love that thing) - he is currently using a yellow strat

Two new singles out! Natural Born Killer and Pink Lullabye (which they have been playing live this spring/summer already).

NBK is very catchy and PL is aggressive! Really liking the direction of this new album. Looks like it is called ‘The Midnight Demon Club’

I haven’t commented on this thread in over 2 years. How are we feeling about what is available on this new record thus far? I like what I’ve heard. The album drops in a couple days and I think it will be a whole lot better than MCID. That record didn’t do a whole lot for me.

Welcome back to the thread :hang_loose:

I am feeling pretty good about this album so far. Natural Born Killer is pretty pop, but I don’t mind because I really like it. Pink Lullabye rips live. New California and Ice Cold are decent, need more time with them. And Midnight Demon Club just released, but the song structure is pretty unique, lyrics leave a bit to be desired.

Waiting for some epic bluesy guitar shredding somewhere on the album.

Seeing them in Atlanta this fall. Catching any shows?

Right now, for me, Midnight Demon Club is my favorite song. And about Johnny’s lyrics, I think they have gotten a little stale. I  currently have no plans to see them.

Damn! Hopefully you get Nashville in. I decided kinda last minute to make the Ottawa show and I’m sure glad I did.

I listened to The Midnight Demon Club a few times now and musically I feel it’s all over the place, but a step up from the previous record, MCID. My favorite tracks are Midnight Demon Club, Ice Cold, New California and Need To Say.

    That’s a fair judgement.

I am really enjoying it aside from some of the lyrics. My favorites are The Sound, NBK, Wild Eyed Son and Evangeline.

I will be revisiting it a lot over the next few weeks before the show. Im pleased!

Agree on the lyrics. Kinda stale. A friend of mine really dislikes the lyrics.

New album is slightly better than the last, which I really can't get into. His lyrics are tough, and although I'm sure some of it is a projection, I hope he has help. Hard not to be concerned with some of the things he says, especially after listening to songs from Linkin Park, Soundgarden, and CC after they've left us.

Definitely. I don’t follow his personal stuff as much anymore, but I know he seems to be in a really healthy relationship now.

Awesome!! I wish I was catching them on this tour, but nothing is really lining up for me. Dude, you always seem to get your hand on a setlist lol! I applaud you! It is nice to see them open with something other than Bath Salts.
