    That's pretty damn cool.

    Damn...

    Pearl Jam
    Incubus
    Kings of Leon
    Satellite Party

    That's one mega line-up.

  • Sounds like a very fitting bill, all the names link well together, i'm very happy !
Plus, Kings of Leon's last album is so good, it's almost unrealistic. It makes me wish they played 2 hours as well. :D

So is everyone settled with their accomodation? I'm staying at a B&B, De Gastenkamer, in the village. I booked it first day i booked the tickets, and spoke to the lady (Gerda was her name, i found it very funny, very typically dutch :D) on the phone so i'm hoping it's cool. She didn't want any money in advance, although i would have felt better if i had given a payment in advance....

mmm...neither the words 'conceptual Album' nor the posing photos are reassuring..but the music on myspace sounds ok.

I guess the order will run like that:
    Satellite Party
    Incubus
    Kings of Leon
    Pearl Jam

    right?

Since Incubus is a bigger name here I think they will follow KoL.. We'll see! I am pretty curious for the time table and how long everyone will play...

From what I've heard on MySpace this Satellite Party sounds pretty good!

    are they?
when I look at the Werchter order, I find it strange (I would have thought both Kaiser Chiefs and QOTSA to be after Arctic Monkeys let alone Bloc Party, and KOL after Bloc Party too)

I think so, Incubus sold out the HMH, doubt KoL could do that now.

Arctic Monkeys headlined last years Lowlands festival, they've been hyped. QOTSA and Bloc Party aren't that big if you ask me, but I hardly watch TV or listen to the radio so my impression might not be accurate.

That's a fantastic line up although I would have preferred Jane's Addiction ;) to another Farell project but I am sure the entire day will be great :)

Yes, after having much panic finally we managed to get a B&B room for the two of us as well in southern Nijmegen 1,5 kilometers away from Goffert Park venue...price is ONLY 30 euros which is pretty cheap compared to the rest of the possibilities you can find anywhere online...it was our fault: we should have decided earlier to return to "almost-Arnhem" Nijmegen:)
Our lady did not want to receive our money of booking either so we have got to trust the Dutch...:)

Thought this would be helpful for people who have yet to make airline/hotel plans for the Nijmegen show...

    FLYING COPENHAGEN-AMSTERDAM

Just booked a cheap flight from Copenhagen to Amsterdam on 6/27/2007, the day before the Nijmegen show, for 70 euros (2 people). Details at:

    http://www.transavia.com

    GOOD HOTEL OPTION

There aren't any cheap hotels left in the Nijmegen center. But there's a really nice, traditional Dutch hotel in the village of Elst called Linge Hotel Elst. I stayed there last year for the Arnhem show. Rooms are really nice and free breakfast is good too. Parking is free as well. You can reserve the room online. You don't have to pay until you arrive. Cost is 82.50 euros per night for a double room. Book soon if you're interested. It's not a big place.

There's a train station in Elst that's only 0.5 km away from the hotel. An intercity train leaves there for the Nijmegen main station every 15 minutes. The ride is only 13 minutes. The last train leaves Nijmegen for Elst at 00:14. Cost is 6.20 euros for a return ticket.

Are you really sure you can get to the station by that early time????????
I am wondering how big masses will head to NS Nijmegen Station right after the show...;)
We were not brave enough to take a risk on catching trains to other cities so we desperately tried to find accomodation in town...and we were fortunately lucky:)

as you said , "trust the dutch" hahaha...
i'm suprised nobody else has gone for the B&Bs, they're all about 30 euros p.p.
I wouldn't try getting the train after the show, i've done that with other concerts and i almost got abandoned on the train platform, hahaha... Or maybe that's just in the UK, i don't know. The Dutch seem to do things better :D
