You are correct. Not all, but certainly "most".oftenreading said:dudeman said:And in other news: Tens of millions of gun owners didn't shoot anyone or negligently allow others access to their firearms.
If only that were the case for all of them. Unfortunately, it's not.

That has to be a typo. Doesn't Florida have the 3 strikes rule? If he was convicted of a felony 3 times he'd be in prison.Halifax2TheMax said:How does someone with 230 felony charges against them obtain firearms?0

One article I read said 15 felony convictions with two stints in the pen. Known to local law enforcement since he was 12. White privilege?tempo_n_groove said:

230 felony charges.... Makes we wonder what happened in the courtroom that allowed this asshole to be out and about with the other humans.
Seems like a major failure of our legal system. If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0

A guy drove through the group of protesters. One protester had his gun and approached the vehicle with it leveled and got shot. Can’t help but think that had he not had a gun he would be alive and the sick head that drove through the march would be in jail for a long time.Halifax2TheMax said:More guns is certainly the answer, right? If he “leveled” the gun as you said, this is going to be a pretty open and shut self defense case. Haven’t seen a great video on this.static111 said:

I didn’t read that initially, so I’ll wait for more evidence to be released before drawing further conclusions. The videos I have seen don’t show much.static111 said:

Local outlets and some friends have provided a clearer picture. The driver apparently sped through the crowd and fired shots, then hit a barrier, after striking the barrier the dude with the long gun approached the car along with some other protestors, which is when the driver fatally shot the armed protestor. So looks like the driver was looking for a showdown and the armed protestor was potentially looking out for the others After they were assaulted with a vehicle and shot at. Anyways it still looks like guns plus guns didn’t help this situation.static111 said:

No surprise here. But yea, more guns is the solution to gun violence, even if sold by “responsible” gun owners.

Looks like the driver was an out of towner that was coming to Austin looking to start something with the protesters. Definitely a bad situation all around. Garret apparently never even took the safety off on his rifle. In this case a lot of people are making the point that him having the rifle was enough of a threat to justify the shooting....it’s crazy and fucked up. Especially when if you so much as look at those Michigan “protesters” from a few months ago with their rifles screaming at cops you get the whole 2A don’t tread on me speech. I’m really at the point that I think a civil war is a very likely near term situation.nicknyr15 said:
Shitty situation all around. The guy who killed him allegedly in self defense , is also a sergeant in the army.static111 said:the guy the guy that got killed in Austin also was a veteran...🙁 I feel very sorry for his fiancé.Scio me nihil scire
