    I've never heard a song by them, but I've seen them listed in emails for upcoming concerts and damn near bought a ticket just based on their name alone: We Were Promised Jetpacks.

    I can recall a couple of club bands back at the turn of the century that had some great names. One was Sweep the Leg Johnny; the other was The Fucking Champs. 

    I don’t know if either one of them is still active, but their names always gave me a chuckle when looking through what was coming to town in the Boston Phoenix or Village Voice.

    Most of the ones I thought of have been mentioned.

    Ive never seen them but a band out of Edmonton is called “Scenic Route to Alaska” and they got that inspiration from a highway sign about 2 miles west of my hometown. I knew it the moment I saw the name. Have to check them out.

    A buddy of mine in high school thought the best name for a band was “Acid Reign” and the first album would be called “Greatest Hits”.
    Still makes me laugh.

    I remember Acid Reign! They were a thrash metal band in the UK in the late 80s (my dodgy metal years :rofl: )
