Finally finding the time to dig into the pile of unread books on the shelf. This one is first up:

If I recall correctly, that book title is a line from Lou Reed's song "Romeo Had Juliette", yes?
I don’t know the song but I’d say you were probably right. Lou Reed is a character in the book so it makes perfect sense.

Ah, perfect!  Here's the song- one of my favorite Lou Reed songs!

Halfway through the New York Yankees - The Big 50. I'm friends with the author and it's a fascinating look at the moments of the Yankees, including their links to Seinfeld.

That sounds like a great book!

My pop grew up back east, was a life-long Yankee's fan.  In '64 we went back to PA and NY to visit relatives and Pop took my brother and I to a Yankees double header in grand old Yankee Stadium.  I got to see both Whitey Ford and Mickey Mantle- both late in their careers- play a few innings that day.  Neither played very well but I didn't care much about that--  seeing two of my heroes in one day was a huge thrill!

I think he'll like it. It's a good mix of all the big moments, including stuff in that era. I've been following baseball since the mid-80s but I know a decent amount of the Yankees of those eras.

Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

This guy has been one of my favorite authors since his first novel.

Stoked to see that he’s finally getting a good paycheck (HBO money!) for this one.

    Looks interesting.
Question is, does the author use the word "Cthulhu" and how on earth do you pronounce it???

I really dug these folks’ translation of Demons

Curious to see how they handled the masterpiece.
