Pearl Jam in “The Last Dance”?

He definitely played in Oakland with the Pistons. But I don't recall any connection between Rodman and Pearl Jam at the very beginning when they were Mookie Blaylock. Seems unlikely.Gern Blansten said:Could Rodman have been in Oakland with the Pistons?

Just curious....I thought maybe Mullins just got the team wrong.on2legs said:

Perhaps my biggest surprise was his love of Pearl Jam." That would have been the game on January 7, 1994 - https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/199401070DEN.htmlI guess its possible Jeff wasn't in on the car ride with Mullin way back when they were known as Mookie Blaylock, but it seems unlikely. I'm just guessing Mullin is fuzzy on the details. Still a cool story.

yeah but you are right that the details don't match....I saw that article pop up on NBC news and a quick fact check blows it out of the water as written.on2legs said:Gern Blansten said:

Yeah, once I posted the article, it made me look up when Rodman played with the Spurs. When I found out, I knew there was no way he gave a ride to "Mookie Blaylock".

I would doubt that Dennis was hanging with the band before their first record was ever released. Hence, the mookie blaylock part of the story doesn’t make sense.0

Yeah, nice story but the timing didn't make sense. I was already a deeply entrenched PJ fan when Rodman came along. I'm not much of a hoops fan so I always wished he would stop interrupting when he showed up but I have to respect his respect for their music because they pulled me out of an abyss as well.0

It just says to check out the Last Dance and that it has good music throughout. Doesn't specifically say there will be Pearl Jam music. But why mention it?PJWGIII said:

They must be fans of Run-D.M.C.'s Down With The King or that Teardrop cover.

The producer or director said on the Bill Simmons podcast that there will be some PJ appearance in the last episode from what I remember. Maybe a song, maybe Eddie singing the National Anthem, or maybe just a still photo.

Given to Fly would be a perfect finish and cap off a great documentary. I could see it being used in a final montage or closing credits.igotid88 said:The producer or director said on the Bill Simmons podcast that there will be some PJ appearance in the last episode from what I remember.
