I haven't seen anything too crazy with regard to people taking to the streets with guns yet. Still, there is no shortage of concern that people will become more violent toward one another before restrictions are lifted.

Is anyone seeing people out and about openly carrying or threatening others with guns?
I was wondering since everyone is on lockdown, how the murder rates went down or not?  They might go up though if you have a budding couple that is too close for too long?
In 9 months the birthrate will skyrocket with "Coronials" being born.
The divorce rate will also skyrocket!
And when they become teenagers they will be called "Quarantines"...
    I like “Coronials” more.
    My line killed, you suck...

    What if I spelled "Quaran-teens"?
Ha, that’s better. Sorry to steal your thunder
No prob, when I know something is funny I get upset when it flops, lol.

People definitely have been busy buying guns and ammo. The few online retailers that I checked are sold out of most handgun calibers and the more popular rifle and shotgun loads. Yet to be determined what is going to come of that.

The limited dealings I have had with locals have been largely positive and there is a sense of community that isn't always apparent. People want to help.

Acts of violence seem to be pretty low on the priority list around here. I hope that continues to be the case and people can emerge from all of this with more respect for life.

I forgot to mention that the cops are being told NOT to arrest people.  Don't fill up the jails if you don't have to is what they are being told.

So by all means, please go and cause crime, you're good on this!

I guess with all those gun and ammo purchases you might as well spend your gubmint check protecting yourself?

$80 for a vest isn't bad!  Might have to pick one up.  TY

Careful, when I posted this same info I was told I was a right wing nut trying to spread fear in the wake of a pandemic  unless I could provide personal memos leaked from the sheriff’s dept.

Dammit! I should have known that would happen if I waxed my ironic handlebar moustache with MAGA-brand wax.

I'll go eat some Ben and Jerry's to compensate.

It's a shame that a handlebar mustache is associated with MAGA now.  I really wanted to grow one but if that's what gets branded w it then no.

I might fight to take back the handlebar though.  I'll give Rollie Fingers a call and start a movement.

Even a Pandemic can’t stop those dam guns from killing people in Chicago.  Those numbers are considered good for a weekend of “gun” violence in Chicago.

Wondering if someone else posted this you'd have posted the same response?

I get why, but still curious.

There are a lot of people in Chicago.

You're still more likely to be shot in rural white pillbilly America.

Feel free to explore the gun violence map for the last 6 years in the link below. I’m curious where you would consider all the “rural white pillbilly Americans” living. Seems like you are more likely to get shot in non rural areas where you know, Americans live. In the event that you were to be fatally shot, 60% of the time it would have been yourself pulling the trigger since suicide accounts for that percentage of gun related deaths. Did you get your information from some guy on Twitter again?
