If Money Didn't Matter and You Could Have One Guitar Setup...

If you had an unlimited budget but could only purchase one guitar setup (one guitar, one amp, one pedal board), what would you purchase?

Including what I already have or pretending have have nothing and start from scratch?

ESP Vintage Plus for the guitar. Fender 5e3 Tweed Deluxe for the amp.

Pedal board gets tricky since one never really seems to be done switching pedals around.

This amp would be on my list as well. Good taste!

OK, I'll assume this means not including what I have already.

I have to go with part nostalgia and part OH YEAH!

Guitar:  My white hollow body Aria that I wish I had not sold years ago.  It was a cheap model but had potential.  All I had to do was be more patient finding the right parts and it would have been a fine guitar.  It's a part of my past I will probably never see again.

Amp:  Also another part of my past:  1965 Fender DeLuxe Reverb.  Same model as Neil Young has been using for ages.  I sold mine as an alternative to starving for less than I care to admit.  I should have just forages for edible plants and kept that amp.  Damn!

Pedal:  My funky old Chandler Industries tube driven Tube driver.  THAT one I still have, thank goodness.

I would love a Fender Hotrod tube amp, a vintage Les Paul and Telecaster. Wouldn't mind having Stone's pedal board while we're talkin'

  • Eric Johnsons setup for his Gibson 64 ES-335.  I heard him play it with G3 and always loved his tone.  I'd love to run that rig.

Acoustic Guitar- Pre-War D-45 Electric Guitar- Fender 1959 Strat Dirty Amp- Marshall 1963 Jtm 45 Head and vintage 4x12 Cab with Greenbacks, Clean Amp- Mesa Boogie California 6v6 Tweed (Lets be honest if money is no object I would probably track down a Dumble Overdrive Special or Steel String Singer to see what all the fuss is about too). For pedals, I would do something like- Original Vox Wah, Ram's Head Big Muff Fuzz, Klon Centaur Overdrive, Strymon Big Sky Reverb, Strymon Timeline Delay, Wampler Teraform Multi-Modulation, and a bunch of other stuff.
