I wonder what the value of the current NBA logo is? I'm sure some bean counter has assigned a value to it. If you think about it, the major sports leagues' logos in the world may have the most value of anything because a major corporation like Coca Cola or Nike will pay them a shitload of money to put their logo next to the league logo.
So will the NBA make a change to the logo? Well, I'm sure the bean counters are working to determine potential value and risk involved. I doubt there is.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

mrussel1 said:The problem with Jordan is that... I think it's pretty commonly accepted that he was suspended from the NBA for gambling. It's the only thing that makes sense. Lebron is clean as a whistle. People can complain about lots of things on the court about complaining to the refs, or whatever, but what you cannot do is credibly criticize him as a human. If you think about the scrutiny he's been under since he was a teenager, it's pretty damn impressive.0

Jordan was a gambler and maybe he had a problem, but Stern secretly suspending him to cover it up makes no sense at all as far as cover ups go. You don't shine a big bright light on the thing you are trying to hide. Jordan's retirement became a huge story, as did his attempt to play baseball. There was press following him around everywhere. If it ever came out that the NBA had suspended him for gambling AND the league was trying to hide that fact, it would be so much worse them.If you were to try and orchestrate something like this, faking an injury is the way to go. Guys get hurt all the time and drop out of the public eye while they recover. A secret suspension is way too risky.___________________________________________

"Pretty commonly accepted" is a huge reach.I've heard of the conspiracy, and I think there may be something there, but I don't know a single person who believes it as a fact.

Either way, put Lebron on there when he retires.0 -

Having a parent murdered the way MJ's dad was, would probably have me thinking that life's too short. More power to him for at least trying to fulfill his potential on baseball. Tragedy's put a lot of us in situations where we start to try to appreciate life for more than we typically do.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.0 -

A fair number of high profile athletes desired to be two sport professionals at the time (Bo, Deion, MJ and I'm sure I'm missing some). MJ was arguably the best athlete on the planet and wanted to show he could join those ranks. It didn't have anything to do with gambling.
