This guy has it figured out. Corporate with a social conscience, stakeholders as important as shareholders. 12 minute video will give Jammers a lot of hope. 
The hacks like Jim Kramer just can’t wrap their heads around it... awesome.

    Salesforce, a company facing a lawsuit regarding sex trafficking by 50 women, victims and survivors of sexual abuse.   Saleforce- the company that built a 1,070-foot (326 m) skyscraper in earthquake prone San Francisco, endangering lives and ruining the skyline of what was once one of the word's most beautiful cities.  New capitalism indeed!

    That snarky response seems to indicate you think I would somehow support some of what you just mentioned. Skyscrapers are engineered to withstand earthquakes and ruining the view is unfortunate. I’m sure the first farmer who put up a large barn pissed off his neighbour. 
    The sex trafficking thing is a serious charge.  

    I’m not a fan of Salesforce. In fact I really don’t know what they do. 

    I just thought it was refreshing for a CEO to understand that profits are not their only area of focus. Despite all you think of Salesforce, I’m sure you can agree with that. Now, if nefarious things are happening under his watch well that’s another story, but I like the message delivered in the clip.  Corporations can be better...

    Not meant to be snarky at all.  And no, come on, of course I don't think you would support  abuse or sex trafficking.  I'm just calling it out on Salesforce as I see it.  Did you research at all what I read? 

    As for your faith in engineering- what about the other S.F. high rise that is leaning unexpectedly?  Remember- this is Clusterfuck California we're talking about here.

    Looked up the lawsuit. The lawsuit claims Salesforce built custom tools for Backpage, upselling the now-defunct website on higher-priced packages and additional services.  Backpage was used primarily for online escorts I believe. 
    Unfortunate they were involved with such a seedy website.  It is conceivable the CEO would not know about the account as they are not always involved in day-to-day operations of the company (COO would be) and it would depend on the size of the account. I’m not thinking Backpage was a huge client.

    Nonetheless, someone made an egregious error allowing Backpage to use their services. 

    I still like the interview on the clip. Capitalism can be better.

    I’m Canadian. I live (and am proud of it) in a country which would be defined as democratic socialism.  Capitalism still exists within socialism, capitalism with a conscious :). 
    Stakeholders matter as much as shareholders.  It is the way Canadian corporations do business as the government makes it almost impossible not to.

    It’s definitely not perfect haha.
    But if our recent federal election showed one thing and one thing only is that Canadians have real concern over climate change and they are demanding our leaders implement policies.

    I saw on YouTube that a Canadian company on Vancouver Island has developed technology to pull CO2 from the atmosphere. Now who is paying for the first unit to be built? An oil company.  The government (and all other industrialized nation governments)  must get behind this as the UN IPCC panel stated that not just the reduction in emissions will be enough. 
    They stated one of the industrial-sized units would capture the equivalent CO2 of 4 million trees per annum. 

    Anyways, the environment is just one large stakeholder Benioff is talking about. He mentions the homeless, the employees, the community at large, etc.  

    He states more large corporations are thinking like he does. Time will tell!
