"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone

"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV

  • This just makes me wonder why I wasn't seeing Pearl Jam back then.
I live in Texas, and I've seen 39 concerts at Madison Square Garden.
Yes, all of them were Phish shows over the past 22 years.  I'm lucky to have a free place to stay near the city and first traveled to MSG for Phish's New Years Run in 1997.

It is my favorite place to see a concert, and I'll be seeing 4 more in December.

I do wish I saw Pearl Jam there.  I'd have Kong!

  • So I really like the new album and I was really looking forward to the Atlanta show this past weekend.

I enjoyed the show, but at times I was a little bored. I can’t remember ever feeling that way at a show before. It’s like the energy never clicked for me / it was too straight forward. I couldn’t FEEL the music, I could just see it happening.

Luckily, I loved Modest Mouse. Thought the set was amazing personally. So really, maybe it was just that the Keys just couldn’t follow them up in my mind? Who knows.

I get what you’re saying.. I wouldn’t say I was bored, but I wasn’t really impressed with the show. To me the problem is the venue.. their music sort of gets lost in the giant arenas. Especially when they aren’t full. They would be much more enjoyable in the 4-5000 capacity places.

That's how I felt last time I saw them which is why I didn't make much of an effort to see them when they were in Chicago a few weeks ago.  I really like the new album but just not much of an urge to see them live anymore.

They were great in houston Tuesday.   But, they were certainly being ambitious playing arenas.  I was able to upgrade to 4th row so I really got a great view and it made it better.  But, the entire upper section was closed off and there were other empty seats.
I looked at setlists after the show.  Looks like they’ve played exact same show nightly.
