Lumineers III

I'm a huge Lumineers fan. Their new album III is an absolute masterpiece. I've listened to it at least 10 times since it was released 9/13 and it is special. They created a video for each song and when watched in order of the track listings is like a short film. The whole album/videos tells the story of 3 generations of a family and addiction struggles. There are 3 chapters to the album. Each chapter consists of 3 songs. The first 3 songs revolve around "Gloria". The second 3 songs revolve around "Junior Sparks" who is Gloria's grandson. And the last 3 songs and 1 instrumental are about "Jimmy Sparks" who is Gloria's son. It's dark and tells a sad story. The music is phenomenal. Can't wait to see them on tour.

Love the Lumineers! I have loved them from my first listen.

My husband pre-ordered III for me for my birthday. Love it. I admit that I am more drawn to the final third of the album. The more I listen, the more it all works.

Not a big fan of music videos. I typically steer clear. (There is also having experience watching my brother deal with substance abuse on and off for 25+ years.) Tried to watch The National film and I just couldn't make it through. I may or may not give these a shot, but i'm glad you like them!

Going to the February Cleveland show with my daughter. We're both pretty excited for it! We saw them in 2017 at their Columbus show. How wonderful it was to see them play to almost 14,000 people as if we were all just hanging out in a living room. Just a fantastic show!

It was nice that they had CDs available with each ticket. I was able to share our extra CD with one of my very best friends here and to pass the extra download code off to another friend here who occasionally swaps music back and forth with me. I always love to be able to share new music.

Are you going to any of their upcoming shows?

Haven't heard most of it but its gonna be tough to beat the first 2 albums, especially the last one for me.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

My wife and I are going to one of the Chicago shows and the Milwaukee show. My favorites off the new album are Leader of the Landslide and It Wasn't Easy To Be Happy For You. But I really like the whole thing.

I listened to the new album twice all the way through and really liked it. Cleopatra is still their best, most complete album in my opinion. III tells a story in a unique way, but musically it just lacks at times for me, compared to Cleopatra specifically. I'll be seeing them in February and very much looking forward to it.

I like their sound, but all the songs I've heard on radio are like, exactly the same.
I'm sure they have some variety, but that is discouraging.

    First two albums were great!
This album is seeming to take longer to get me.
Like these guys better when Neyla was in the band.

I've found that I have gotten into the album better by honestly going backwards with it. (Well, by sections with vinyl.)

    It's not Ophelia.

    It's not self titled.

It's not the same without Neyla for sure.

It's slowly, very slowly, working for me.

Good to know. I’ll give it another chance. Seemed very slow the first 2-3 times I listened and haven’t gone back since
