clang clang clang
clang

soundings backyard small metal chimes
shit for brains everyday
cancerous crisp
all gone this one from emeralds
none tribal drums
it aint fucking right
our rainforest's napalm breath got you some
bastard fucker

living in fear
dead whales floating
a crying child
where fading birds can't fly
nothing to catch

clang clang clang
clang

dead hits night unlit
just the same undone bullshit
guess it ends today
off it soon goes missing

even with each blade being buddha
our little prairie that had swayed
it all echoed on wind's ride
now seems even lotus flowers are trying to quit
everything drying up

wildflowers not annihilation
a meditative skybeam no longer golden chanting
it is a fading tiger's nest
poisoned high over cliff
where dangling monasteries push back best they can

clang clang clang
clang

A keeper and well done, Chadwick! Wow and Damn! Pound the table! Look at the ruin. Finding a light light in all those prairie blades even as the lotus wilts. The clanging monastery, all of it. Fantastic!
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

    SPY GOAT

it isn't into a spyglass it is written this form
but on the waves of conscientiousness
a book parallels like a thought drop

formative the belief the written path
    a planet forms overnight
    for a god

    for us a plant
    the smaller creations

    we are so very small

    black sometimes is the wall
    a definitive separation from white
but black argumentably the more affixed line of division
as if if space is black beyond must be too

I'd like to write about you
I'd like to write about my imagination
    of wonderful
imagination being the stronger thing than you or I could even possibly imagine

or even the wonderful memories of unforcedness
childhood made up trees, woods and verses
the following of spirit dwellings into autumn leave danced
the I can't keep up of what I want to

because sometimes at night it rains bugs
and we cannot, or should not, help this
