With Breakfast Club a close second. Never seen Dazed and confused though
Uhg!?!
What!?! You need to watch that one!
I‘ll see if I can rent and watch it on Sunday. I‘ll report back
Your answer will change after watching this.
Just watched the trailer.... do I really have to watch it?!?!
don't judge it based on the trailer. get nice and toasted and toss it in. preferably at the end of the night, after getting home from a club or a party, and you aren't quite ready for bed yet. light one up, press play, and sink into 1970.
my wife and I, before children, would literally do this every weekend, on rotation with The Big Lebowski, Old School, and D&C.

Yeah well, none of that is me. But fine, I’ll give it a try 😉

it's still a great movie, even without the buzz. that's the era of my life it came out in for me.

Smokin weed is not my thing either but the damn movie is hysterical!
I don't know that I could rank a top 5. Fast Times is obviously my #1, Ferris is up there, as is American Pie. Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, & Pretty in Pink are all classics. Clueless, Varsity Blues & She's All That haven't been mentioned in either thread I don't think. And on that note, Not Another Teen Movie is one of the greatest spoof films ever. Jawbreaker is another good one. I don't know if Election counts as a teen movie, but it's spectacular! 10 Things I Hate About You, Juno, and Easy A also deserve discussion. Good mention on Kids, that one always seems to be forgotten.
Election is a FANTASTIC movie. But yeah, it isn't a teen movie. It's for grown ups.
Better Off Dead was though - it that had been in the list I would have chosen it.

There was a few Cusack movies that were on the cusp but didn't see them as teen movies...
^^She really covers all the angles and deals with it frankly but also with sensitivity. Good stuff.
That's what I liked most. She doesn't express extreme emotion in either direction, but offers both praise and criticism of certain aspects of his writing & filmmaking.

Of those listed, I would say Bueller but if there was an "other" button I would vote for "Pretty in Pink". I always liked Molly Ringwald's movies a lot and Harry Dean Stanton was in it too so there you go.

Ok, I didn’t watch the whole movie, only watched a whole lot of YouTube clips. Hated it 🤷🏼♀️
