Well, in honor of The Car's Ric Ocasek passing we will have an extra episode of weakest link.
We will play to determine the GREATEST song on The Cars' album Heartbeat City
For anyone new to the game:
You are going to pick the song that you think is the "Weakest Link" after 3 days I remove the three (3) songs with the most votes.
We will then move on to Round 2. - Remember you are voting to eliminate songs from contention.
Lets have fun with this. Remember debating and discussing why your right and others are wrong is always fun.

It's not something most of us listen to. I remember the hits from the MTV days but not my cup o tea for music choices.MedozK said:Was hoping for more than 8 votes for Round 1.0

It's not in the upper level of a superclassic album.MedozK said:Was hoping for more than 8 votes for Round 1.
I've never listened to it. Might have heard a song and two. And watched that great video with NIN."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0

Every Cars album is a superclassic. OK, so I'm biased.Spiritual_Chaos said:

Still, you heard this album basically everywhere you went in 1984-1985. Every pop/rock radio station had the singles on in heavy rotation. MTV had the videos on in heavy rotation. And working with Mutt Lange changed their sound quite a bit to make this album stand out from their first four albums.
Their debut will always be my personal favorite, but this record can easily get in the ring with it. Candy-O, Panorama and Shake It Up are great and all, but they're inessential if you're not a Cars fan. The Cars and Heartbeat City, however, are essential to anyone's record collection who drew breath in the 1980s. Perhaps not in Sweden, I guess. That's too bad.

Calling bullshit. You had to actively try to avoid (meaning basically sitting alone in your house in the dark) "Drive," "Magic," "You Might Think," "Hello Again," et al. if you were alive in the mid-eighties.ed243421 said:Not in Wakefield, either.I SAW PEARL JAM0

I did actively avoid most of the mid to late 80’s radio filler.
I had older brothers influencing me, so it was The Who, Zep, Floyd & the Stones for me.
