    From what I’ve seen, most people stock up on goods when they think the prices are about to skyrocket or supply will become scarce.  Politicians on the left (and some peeps on here)like to talk about taxing ammo to make it unaffordable....so any time it looks like a Democrat will get elected, people stock up while it is still available and cheap.  From a marketing standpoint, firearm and ammo manufacturers’ profits go through the roof the more gun control is politicized.
    Point is, it really doesn’t shock me when I hear of someone, especially competitive shooters, “stockpiling”.

    I would have hoped that the average gun owner sees the difference between threats of violence and jay walking. Maybe not.
