Hawai'i '78 Video Shedding Light on the Struggle of Native Hawaiian People featuring Surprise Guest

There is a struggle in Hawaii right now with Native Hawaiians and their allies who are fighting against the desecration of sacred land on Mauna Kea. I recognized many of the Hawaiian artists in the video, but was surprised by one artist, who I'm sure you can guess the identity, considering I am posting it on these boards.

1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
2022- Oakland Night 2

    I never really thought about looking for him. I wonder if my network of family has some connection to him somehow? My aunty was Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's dietician for a short time. His friends would constantly sneak in food to his hospital room. I'm gonna have to start asking about Boom next time I am there.

    Jake Shimabukuro  is the best uke player i have ever seen
    nahko ( and medicine for the people ) also killer
    and boom etc etc !!  = very cool video. thanks for posting that !
    i've had the pleasure of being on that maui volcano/mountain for some personal life changing experiences and 100% for sure it's sacred ground and imo no place for an 18 story tall telescope added to the telescopes already there. the native hawaiians have a long seeded distrust/hatred towards foreigners and i get that.  imo we need to find somewhere else in the world to build it. and not there !

    I think you may be confusing Mauna Kea(Hawaii Island) with Haleakala(Maui)? Mauna Kea has snow. Either way, both places are magical.
