My thoughts...  no one can accuse the Democrats and Mueller working in cahoots for the last month to taking down Trimp, at least lord I hope not .... not sure how Democrats could have seen that hearing going any way other then it did based on their inside knowledge of Mueller.  I can’t believe they decided to push this to this point ... Pelosi needs to cease control after this or 2020 will be a fractured attack to take back the White House ...
How much of the hearing did you watch? Because it was pretty damning...just not very entertaining.
Live I only caught the last hour due to work and watch constraints.   I’m not sure how much Mueller didn’t really know of what was in the report or if he was just playing a strategy of not painting himself in a corner.  I didn’t see anything damning that was new info or would renew public interest.   I just saw a tired old man.

Mostly because approximately half of Americans don’t have any stake in the stock market. Nissan didn’t make projections, going to lay off 13K. How’s that foxCON deal working out for Wisconsin?

Have you done done any grocery shopping lately? That tax break sure helped you out, didn’t it? 3MM going to get cut off of SNAP. Go to bed hungry.
Financial institutions and PE's believe we're already in a recession.
I think the jobs report is the biggest thing that grabs people's attention more than anything else....and even more so now because of Trump's stupid short term thinking way of always touting them when they're good. They're not always gonna be good....
Yes and these are all lagging indicators.  The hiring will be slowing.  Look at the manufacturing,  particularly automotive.  They agree killing 3rd shifts everywhere.

Seize control or cease control? If the latter, who do you think should be speaker? I think she gave the rabble rousers in the caucus the chance to move public opinion on impeachment and it probably failed.  Now her strategy of oversight and legislation should be the way forward into 2020
Man, at this point my spelling is dictated by the ghost of Steve Jobs and his Apple minions.  Don’t have the time to go through every post and proof read it like I’m turning in a term paper when Stevie is changing every other word I type.  Although I probably did fuck that one up on my own ...
Yeah I know but seize and cease totally changes the argument. I wasn't picking on it,  rather understanding whether you were being critical of Pelosi or not.

They knew going in that he wasn't going to stray much from the report though. I guess I'm confused about what you were expecting. I mean there was no way he wasn't going to testify after completing his work. Saying Pelosi needs to step down strikes me as odd. Her approach of wanting to go into impeachment with their strongest case possible doesn't strike you as a rational way of handling things? Why would they go into impeachment now without being armed with testimonies from McGahn and others and without seeing his tax returns? That's what wouldn't make sense. Sadly, it just takes time to obtain these things...

--If you find an online version of the Mueller report and see the final pages, there are 12+ cases still ongoing and much redaction. I believe this is the reason for so many non-answers from Mr. Mueller. He had to be very careful to not prejudice any ongoing cases.
--I don't like the idea that an impeachment hasn't begun but I completely understand why. If the House impeaches and the Senate doesn't convict, criminal soul-eater takes that to the election as being cleared, even though we all know it's crooked.

Yesterday's testimony was extremely important even if it wasn't exciting. My country, our Democracy, is more important to me than any stupid and fake and dishonest reality show from a criminal. We can do so much better.

I agree with this. However I think it is unlikely the senate convict's either way. BUT---if they go in with damning evidence not just from the Mueller probe but also from the other probes, testimonies, and what they find in the tax returns; it will reflect much better on them and make the republicans look that much weaker. Basically I think it will hold more weight than just going with what they have right now.

All in all this was a big disappointment.  And it shows that apparently the Democrats are not very good at politics.

I still say failing to do anything after it was proven that Russia interfered in the elections is why Trump should be gone from office.  And it looks like Mitch should join him in the private sector as well.  This is an embarrassment to our government and I'm shocked that it isnt THE story every day.  Ok....I'll give you some climate change and shootings days too...but most days should be about this.

100% agree with you. The Dems could have used Mueller to tell the story and walk the viewer through events since none of the GOP actually read the report. Instead it was scattershot and random in approach and did not tell any cohesive story. The Dems should have picked on representative, someone like Harris who was an AG, to use each members allotted time to draw a clear picture and provide a comprehensive narrative.

I also agree that the real focus should be on election tampering by the Soviets. It is something that should concern every American, and yet we have the Senate Majority Leader tank 2 election security bills which passed the house, because he was afraid it would give the Dems a "political benefit." What the actual fuck? Did he really say that a fair and open election benefits the Dems and hurts the GOP? He's a traitor just like Trump.

    The WaPo said:
The legislation to which McConnell refers, the one that passed the House, is pretty straightforward. It requires voter-verifiable paper ballots and voting machines that don’t connect directly to the Internet, so that recounts can be done accurately and there’s less vulnerability to hacking. It gives states money to secure their systems. It instructs the Election Assistance Commission to do a study to determine optimal ballot designs to minimize voter confusion and errors.

It is telling that #MoscowMitch is afraid of elections which can't be manipulated by Trump's buddy Vlad.

I realize this doesn't feed into the media's narrative of wanting a "performance," but this is worth a read.
Again, on dvr and with avoiding social media and stuff, this is largely the impression I had of this testimony.

I feel the same. My feeling about Director Mueller not wanting to use the word "impeachment" is that he was being very careful to not create clips for campaign videos that could be manipulated. A clip of him saying that word could be used by anyone and taken out of context, could be promoted as pro or anti-impeachment. He's really quite brilliant...and doesn't like all the politics from what I've read. What was that Joe Friday always said? Just the facts...

That's the ironic thing. In the report and in his hearing it seemed obvious that he went out of his way to not be disparaging of the president who obviously tries to disparage Mueller every chance he can get. I think rational, unbiased, people can see that.

The problem is, before they get the chance to see it they get bombarded ny pundits and their takes so for how long do Mueller stay with them before biased-hot takes on Mueller/the hearing take over?
