We had new neighbors move in across the street and down one house a few years ago. We never really had much of an introduction to each other...my wife went over one day and talked to the female briefly. My wife thought she was a little odd but nothing out of the ordinary. They are the kind of neighbors that don't wave when they drive by. I don't expect people to stop their cars and come over and shake my hand while I'm mowing the front yard but when we are 20 feet apart a wave or eye contact with a smile would seem appropriate for people that live near each other.
The bus stop is in front of our house as we live in the first house on the cul-de-sac. Their kids were not real close in age to ours so the kids never had much interaction. My daughter said that kids on the bus would make fun of their oldest boy who did seem to have some austistic tendencies.
Anyway....we live on a lake and we took our boat back in the cove behind their house and noticed that they have a "This Property Protected by the 2nd Amendment" sign at the edge of their yard facing the lake. So, OK, whatever....kind of an odd thing to advertise in a golf course community....like they think the sign will make lake pirates think twice or something?
Recently my wife just happened to look up the neighbor lady on facebook. They had family pictures taken (Dad, Mom, two boys and one younger (13?) daughter, where they are all holding pistols. They also had some Mom/Dad shots where Dad has a pistol in each hand and Mom just has one pistol....not sure what the message is there.
This is unsettling because we had a nationally recognized school shooting in my city a few years ago. The shooter lived in my neighborhood and had taken his parents guns to school. Now right across the street I can see that they have a small arsenal (likely larger weapons as well) and younger kids in the house.

Or have it made into a bumper sticker and slapped on your uparmored Humvee. Seriously, if i were you, I'd consider moving. And I know thats much easier said than done but why wait and see what may or may not happen?
