For some reason, while thinking about the subject of this thread, the song "Idiot Wind" keeps playing in my head.  Huh!  How about that!
Oh, Shit...PJ should totally cover that.

Idk. Think Trump got a limited edition and Obama got a regular. Anyway, why are the Cubs meeting with Trump and Obama for the same championship?
They won during an election year and Obama, being from Chicago (albeit a Sux fan), wanted to bring them in early.

I’m concerned that stadiums are the new norm.

In 2 nights at Fenway they can play for as many people as 4 arena shows, with a lot less travel time & setup. From a business standpoint it’s a no brainer.

I’m also hard pressed to see Vedder abandon his love for Wrigley over this Ricketts thing.

I'd rather see a summer amphitheatre tour...well, maybe a regular tour would do...

Thanks, Ricketts family, for aiding my transition from Cubs to Sox
    ricketts
Chicago Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts tries to keep an apolitical face of the team, but family members have been big spenders on and supporters of President Donald Trump. (Brian Cassella/Chicago Tribune)

Converting to the White Sox has been rough, as I knew it would be.

When your allegiance to a team spans more than three decades, it’s difficult to stop caring, to stop following the scores of their games on your phone, to stop lingering on their telecasts when channel surfing.

And it’s also difficult to adopt a team to which you have been indifferent if not downright hostile for that same period of time — to start caring, to stop reflexively taking pleasure in their defeats and to begin making their games appointment viewing.

On Valentine’s Day, I broke up with the Cubs.

They’d made several personnel moves over the years that had irked me — trading for relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman in 2016, the year he’d served a 30-game suspension for allegedly shoving and choking his girlfriend, then firing a gun eight times in the garage of his home, for example.

Yeah, I'm not attending a game because of the owner of the team...lol.  I just assume that most of the billionaire owners are Trump supporters...even if they try to deny it, I do not believe them.

It's a pretty easy assumption, considering they are the benefactors from Trump's tax cuts...

Would you boycott a PJ concert in Wrigley because of this?  (side question:  are you insane?)

do Chicagoites still refer to it as Comiskey?  I do, but every time I call it that I wonder if that's proper given that Comiskey is gone and was actually next to the new park.

    Just curious

I was wondering same thing and did read it was called Comiskey when it was first opened. So it makes sense and who wants to call it by the sponsers name? I still call Comerica Park Tiger Stadium, lol.

Exactly. I go to watch the players on the field, enjoy the game of baseball, and check out the eye candy in the stands. Ricketts is a billionaire prick, that’s no secret.  This is why I’ve kinda shifted my views on free agency and big contracts. The more money that goes in the players pockets, the less I am supporting the owner’s pocket. I grew up watching the Cubs and old episodes of Home Run Derby on WGN with my grandfather - the most important man and biggest father figure I had in my life. That’s what Cubs baseball means to me.  Donald Trump holding a convention at Wrigley Field isn't going to change that.

wiki says that the new park was originally called Comiskey Park until renamed US Cellular Field in 2003.  There we go...
