I for some reason just can't get into Horkey, or any of the other Burlesque artists. I just wouldn't want to hang any of that stuff in my house.
you couldn't swing if you were hangin' from a palm tree in a hurricane.
  • not really my preference as far as posters... his look a lil too "anime", klausens looks a lil too "graphic" and linear... i like something in between... or something totally silly and cartoony like alot of the ames and ward sutton stuff... good luck getting the poster tho! and i wouldnt be opposed to him doing roo since i wont be there :D

great discussion... I like hearing people's opinions...
I like horkey, i just wish he wouldn't cover up the animals heads as much as he does in his artwork...
as we all know, I'm an EMEK fan myself, but Horkey and Klausen are tied for my #2 spot(maybe with Banksy as well)

I would LOVE to see DD's take on a PJ poster... or a sick Dino McCarthy PJ print!
Oh, if only I were in charge... although sadly, I wouldn't give anyone besides EMEK a chance.
  • id like to see jay ryan do a few PJ posters... he has an exhibit at my school right now and im attending a lecture by him tomorrow... the colors he uses are so brilliant! and they are fun cartoony designs... i think it would suit PJ nicely

well, they gave a few other artists a shot with the Austrailia shows in 06, maybe with the next big tour, they will open it up some. I would like to see some other artists take as well, danger, rob jones, slater.

university of illinois... weve got a fantastic art museum tho that gets some pretty sweet exhibits from time to time... im an art student, but honestly id say the art program here is only so-so... great for a state school... but not the best...

ill post something here about how the lecture goes tomorrow... hes doing a screenprinting hands-on tutorial as part of it too i think!

I would be interested to see what a lot of these artists would come up with if PJ were to give them, say 8-10 shows, and tell them they need a run of 750-1000 prints for each show by a certain date before the show. Just because it seems like a lot of these artists mainly spend a lot of time on one print for one show, so i wonder waht they would come up with for a series of shows.
