I have long felt we are well past the point of no return...I am just here for the ride at this point. However, I am not so sure when it all ends...you figure in the next 80 years so the planet will be unliveable...you might be right. I live in southern Ontario in the great lakes region and they are dealing with extremely high water...a marina could not open for the season, yes, a marina is not safe to place for boaters to moor their boats. As far as humans go, I think our best hopes lie on the possibility that small scattered groups of people will survive in various places. As far as the planet goes, the hope (and I think there is at least a fairly good chance) lies in the earth's ability to heal itself in a mere million years or two (which is not long in geological time.)Meltdown99 said:

About 20 years or so a Mako was caught inside the inlet between Long Beach and Island Park. THAT was very unusual too. They said it came in with the storm at the time.0 -

That's likey the truth. When they start banning plastic bottles for water and when those for-profit water bottling companies, in some cases are allowed to drain water from our lakes for next to nothing (nestle come to mind) go out of business, then I'll take the plastic straw ban as serious...everyone pretty much has safe cleaning drinking water in western society...go to a Costco, people walk out of those places with bottled like they drink a case a day...lmfao.brianlux said:Meltdown99 said:

Sticking with the "Let's talk about ways to make it better" part of this thread, is (as the article claims) incineration the best way to deal with this particular situation, or are there better solutions?
