Such a great song.  Great lyrics, too.  You nuts, bro!  ;)

The End is fucking depressing and amazing at the same time. If I wanna feel sad, it’s my go to song ;-)
and what’s wrong with sappy? Is it a man/woman thing? Future days is fucking romantic, if I ever were to marry, that would be played and I‘d be bawling my eyes out 😂

I don't think I could choose a best closer from albums 1 - 7. I absolutely love every last one of them. I do feel No Code and Yield have the weaker closers of those albums, but still awesome songs. The last 3 albums don't even come close when it comes to PJ album closers.
Totally agree. If we are ignoring all the hidden/silly/bonus stuff, I'd go...
    1. Immortality
    2. Indifference
    3. Release (prefer it as a concert opener as opposed to an album closer)
    4. Parting Ways (should be played way more)
    5. All Those Yesterdays
    6. All or None
    7. Around the Bend
All the above a really good to great tunes. These are rankings - not ratings.
The End is too sad to enjoy...Future Days just went too far with the sap/cheese...off the top of my head, I can remember what ends Self-Titled...Inside Job??? Yes...that's it. I'm still "moody" about that one.
I don’t get what you’re trying to say concerning Inside Job. What do you mean by moody?

Sometimes I think it's a very cool, well-thought our piece of music. Sometimes I think's it's like overblown, prog rock.
It reminds somewhat me of something you'd hear from either Rush or Led Zeppelin's In Through The Out Door. I have to be in a specific frame of mind to enjoy either.

I don't mind sentimental...sappy is what I have a problem with and that's where "Future Days" lands for me. Hey, I could be worse...it could be "Sirens" (but don't let me derail the thread about my favourite song in order to bash Lightning Bolt tracks).

I know it was a single but do any of you recall hearing it on the radio back in 1994/1995? I'm not sure I ever did.

I enjoyed it last year hearing it twice but get how people do not like it in a live setting.

That's because their souls were ablaze while their bodies tried to take in that amazing song - paralyzed with awe.

Or, they just lacked souls and were just there to hear Jeremy for the 524th time
His eminence has yet to show.

Such a great song that it has two sets of lyrics which confirms Ed's position at the pantheon of songwriters & the lives version jam is incredible. Immortality is immortal

its OK to hate poverty, war, bullying, genocide, racism etc but its NOT OK to hate a song by your favorite band !!
please put hate where it belongs....it does not belong in this thread anywhere. imo
the first time i heard a leaked, before-release-date, copy of inside job, on a shitty mp3 player, my mind was blown open because it was unlike anything else  :)

The great thing about "Immortality" is that it has sustainability. It's a song that will never seem dated, never seem like the band has outgrown it, and a song that EV's voice will be able to handle for the foreseeable future.
