Interesting stuff.  Clearly Eddie lost a lot of range and power by 1996 so this guy is probably spot on.

This one is not at all like those pointless "I'm a Hip Hop-head and watch me react to the first episode of MacGyver" videos that 12 year olds watch, and that fill up that thread you are linking to.

I just watched a 2018 show video and it seems that Eddie has made some adaptation as a result.  I would assume they were out of necessity but also probably because the guy went from some dude who was in a band that made it big is now a more professional singer after all these years.

Ed has clearly changed some of his singing in the last few years. I thought he sounded good in 2018

I like her a lot, her reaction to Tool doing Sober live was pretty good as well.

I like the fact that Ed still has a genuine crack at singing most songs in their original key (with a few exceptions). Maynard doesn't do the screaming parts at all now and does The Pot in C. How you guys feel about songs being done in lower keys? If you love them are you like "Fuck it I'll take it in any key" or are you a little discovered to hear them that way and would rather hear another song?

I cant hear the difference between different keys.

i think it depends though. If they feel like they cant do e.g blood anymore do something cool with it like play it in a cool instrumental version, make it acoustic or change the key. Or drop it. Its all good to me.

But I guess my point is - I dont have a problem with songs changing/being done in a different way

I agree w the last part.  Change up the octave of a song.  My fav version of RVM Vedder changes up the key and the guitars all riff slightly different.  It makes it a whole new song.

Remember hearing Indifference Live in Atlanta for the first time?  Change the octave ever so slightly and it can be magic.
