    I've thankfully quit smoking but back when I did smoke I tried American Spirits and not only were they quite a bit more expensive they were very, very harsh. The only positives if you can call them that was they would burn very slowly making them last a lot longer then a normal cig, and they don't add any extra chemicals to the tobacco.

    The yellow packs had little cards with pictures of animals on every pack, I guess you were donating to some wildlife cause with every step closer to lung cancer ;)

    I keep telling myself I'll try them someday. I don't even smoke but once I found out they don't add anything to them, it just became something I wanted to do. I never remember until I'm out of the store though.

    If you have made it this far without smoking DO NOT START! I started as a casual smoker to 'fit in' with everyone else when we went out drinking and it took me almost 7 years to break the habit. Its a very filthy and expensive habit. I never thought I'd habit ;)

    it took me about 18-19 years to quit- so wish I had never started as well.

    nicotine = good food
  • stinks! Not to great for the vocal chords, either--luckily Ed's are mostly intact.

    At the Thunder Bay show in '05 someone threw a pack of American Spirits up on stage, and Eddie said 'I don't smoke those anymore'

    Unless he went back to them again, I dunno.

    I've smoked before (mostly when I'm drinking) but never more than two or three in one night. What I was planning on doing was buying a pack, taking two, and either try giving them to a friend (who smokes. I don't purposely try to coruppt the innocent) or smash em.

    Ha ha, yeah me too. I've also been trying to start smoking for years so this may also help me finally start the habit.

    I'm just waiting for the "OMG Ed stop smoking because you have a kid and I don't want you to die of lung cancer so I can go to PJ shows and see you on stage when you're 65 and think of your family" brigade to stroll in here...

    I smoke the American Spirit cigs myself... yellow (lights) pack for me. Sometimes I even smoke them while I drink beer. I'm gonna die tomorrow.
