and then that gets tracked onto the furniture inevitably. people put their feet up on the couch, on the coffee table, etc. I prefer not to have my nice couch wrecked by ground in dirt.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0 -
I think most people are not okay with shoes on the furniture, but dang, those must be some dirt-caked shoes if they are leaving all that dirt all over the place. I think you should take Scruffy up on his offer!

It's a floor, not a table.... although either way, I clean them. What are the no shoes no matter what people's thoughts on pets on the tables and counters?
cats are a lot cleaner than humans are.
they constantly clean themselves. and there's really no way to prevent a cat from going wherever the fuck it wants to. a cat is rude and does what it wants. humans have the option of being considerate about not tracking their dirt everywhere they go.
and I don't have pets.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0 -

I'm looking at the bottom of my shoes now. Aside from being visibly discolored from normal wear, there is no caked-on dirt or loose debris that could be tracked anywhere. Now I'm sure I could get a high-powered magnifying glass out and be proven differently, but when we're talking microscopic scale then we've reached the point of insignificance.

I live in a neighborhood that is new...under construction. Lots of dirt all around. If you don't take your shoes off at my door, you will get dirt on the hardwood or even worse wherever their is carpet. So everyone is removing shoes.
I personally don't understand the extremes here. It's just up to whoever's house it is. That's it.hippiemom = goodness0 -

people can do what they wish as long as they aren't being a dick to whomever they are visiting, as you said.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0 -
