Top Female Performer You've Seen Live

  • Ani DiFranco will always be my favorite female performer.  I've never seen Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlan or Annie Lennox but if I did I'm sure they'd be up there.
The Yeah yeah yeahs and Karen O were great.
Courtney Barnett was good but the venue I saw her in was wayyyy too big for her.  Smaller venue would have been amazing.
Kim the drummer from Matt&Kim is always amazing when she plays.  She has FUN at shows.

I saw Beyonce perform and while she was very good she lip synched so it doesn't get held as high as the others I've seen but I really did enjoy her choreography.

Fair point on a Beyoncé, and Cher was the same more on ‘performance’ than a stunning vocal.
  • the only time i saw joni live was when she opened up for bob dylan. 2 decades ago
i'm still in love with bonnie raitt and the dixie chicks and the first time i saw cheryl crow play she made a point of playing every instrument during her set. that gal is talented! and joan baez's last tour ever, last year, was brilliant in so many ways.

yes. she's got 3 albums out. and they are actually good. I have seen her live twice, both times in a dingy hole in the wall bar. She is a rocker, through and through.

She was dating the RATM drummer so I can see her as being a rocker.

And don't let her performance at Cornell's tribute sway you....that was terrible, and not at all indicative of her live talent.

I didn't watch the Cornell tribute.  I was afraid that songs I liked would be ruined, lol.
