Foles is 30, will get big money from someone.... I dont see the Patriots paying him starter money to sit behind Brady for an indefinite period of time. Nor do I see him going to New England for similar reasons.
They will almost certainly draft and groom someone again on a rookie deal0 -
Like I said, off season will be interesting. But the future is now because I’m sensing this might be TB’s last season, particularly if he gets a 7th. He’d be a great mentor as someone learns the system and Foles has got the goods, in that franchise, to be as successful as TB. But yea, he’s going to chase the money.Poncier said:

I think it’s time to part ways with Gostkowski. Watching that guy kick field goals at this point is just too anxiety inducing. He’s not nearly who he was 10 years ago obviously and is always a double doink waiting to happen. I’m pretty sure Gronk will retire. Part of me wants him to retire to prevent another devastating injury, but another part of me thinks he has another year in him. He played very well the past two games and made me a lot of money! If Gronk walks, do you look for a TE in the draft?
There was also talk of the McCourty bros retiring. I think they’ll be back but that’d be another big loss. Jason had the biggest play in that Super Bowl breaking up that pass to Cooks in back of the endzone. Trey Flowers is a free agent. They usually don’t pay these guys but maybe they make an exception or two late in the Brady twilight years? Flores goes to Miami, he should have somewhat of a clue on how to defend the Patriots.
Is last year’s model of winning sustainable? Brady and Gronk not showing up early in the offseason, cruise control early in the season, got beat convincingly by Patricia and Vrabel, turned a switch on late in the season. I think that’s the first time they’ve won a championship by flicking a switch late. They clearly got it together in the last two cupcake games of the regular season against the Bills and Jets. Chargers were travel fatigued in the cold, Rivers lays yet another egg. Even a bunch of people up in Boston thought the Pats wouldn’t go into Arrowhead and win. I thought they would do it. Say what you want about Mahomes, he had a great season and is probably the future of the league but Brady is still the clutchest player in the history of sports. You can’t count that fact out in a game like that. Granted AFC championship and the Super Bowl weren’t his greatest games, but he made the plays in the 4th quarter when he had to like no other. To still be the best 18-19 years into your football career on the verge of 6 championships with more motivation than anybody. That just doesn’t happen, the league isn’t designed for that to happen.
And what can you say about the Super Bowl? Preparation, experience, and motivation is everything in that game. Patriots’ defense gave up 0 combined first half points against the Chiefs and Raiders. Talk about flashbacks to the 03’-04’ seasons. Patriots were hungrier and the Rams looked like they were playing at walk thru speed. All the talk about McVay the millenial genius, he didn’t expect the Pats D to play zone and he didn’t prepare for it. They didn’t throw any wrinkles into their gameplan. Goff wasn’t even close to being ready for this kind of stage. Goff and Gurley looked like a deer in the headlights and showed us nothing.
The revived Eagles thread is laughable trying to hold onto any last bit of relevance they might have. Face it, it was a one and done. The Rams won’t be back in this game anytime soon either as the Seahawks and 49ers will be much better next year. Meanwhile the Pats have reached indisputable football immortality. No more debates.
