    Ames Bros LoL
  • I've wanted that Istanbul on my wall for years. And now it will be! I may be in the minority, but I think these are sweet. Wish I had more wall space.

I agree these are sweet. I finally got my Barrie poster from my first show. The original is usually around 900 usd. Happy to have a giant version for a lower price!!

These remind me of the movie BIG with Tom hanks.  It’s like a kid crying out for help and attention to have a 5 foot Pearl Jam poster on your wall.
I'm like an opening band for your mom.

Would not shock me to see his $650 price be lower than tomorrow’s Ames Bros price.

I hope that NYC isn't 750. Didn't they sell that one for 500 @ the Pop Up Shop?

Thinking that NYC will be more expensive than a Hawaii '98 reprint is bold. Hawii is the pinnacle of PJ posters for nearly anyone old enough to know the PJ poster-game's earlier days. You simply cannot run a search for a Hawaii '98 on any given day and guarantee finding one--much the opposite of Kong.

Was the Hawaii even available on the 10C poster order form for the 98 tour...? since it was a pair of "pre" shows before Aussie tour?
  • Curious on why prices vary on these? I thought maybe ink? (Saw the comment on this above.) Normally prints release are all $40 or a set price. These seem to vary off of popularity

I m guessing it is based on the individual poster.

I think the varying size plays a part in the pricing, as well as popularity (aka current market prices).

Businesses are in business to make money.  I don't have any problem with this and its kind of cool. I think this just an attempt to try something different.  Call Klausen and tell him to make a giant Dusseldorf, Toronto, Borgata, Hawaii etc. Imagine a five foot wave or dragons!
I hope you remember this sentiment the next time you want to buy something and complain the prices are too high

A few days back I was a bit negative on this thread about Ames Bros selling and appeal of these posters, thought it was just a big money grab and ridiculous that anyone would want a 5 foot tall concert print in their home - which I still stand by.  However, I took a closer look and there is the silver lining for this offering...The site states - Banding together to fight homelessness - 50% of all profits goes to the Pearl Jam Home Shows to fight homelessness.  So if the Giant Grape Ape just sold for $400 each, than after expenses, the profits could be something in the tune of $10-13K, which is going to combat homelessness in Seattle or nearby cities - so that is pretty cool and thus I will keep quiet for the remainder of this sale.  I hope Kong goes for $800 - at least the money will be going to a good cause.
