Thanks for sharing that link, man. I appreciate it. I appreciate the kind words. I neglect my reverb nation account a lot, most of my unreleased stuff is on SoundCloud.com/brianzulmmusic. Much more good stuff on there I think. I also have an album on Spotify and elsewhere under my name and it’s called Ferdinand.
Cool - if you're on Spotify I can just find ya and download ya. I haven't listened yet but I will let you know when I do. I look forward to listening to stuff from all you guys.

This thread and the 'top 3 favorite song' thread are fantastic for finding artists that I never would have heard of except for everyone's posts.

Absolutely smitten with Mandolin Orange, a roots duo formed at Chapel Hill, NC in 09.
They share such an intimacy in their music and performance (they are a couple, Andrew Marlin writes the music and Emily Frantz adds her touch with violin and strings) that it is captivating.
I also really enjoy having a southern sound without the relentlessly boring southern themes of rebels who just love God and walk the hard walk.  I love southern sounds, but even greats like Chris Stapleton have lyrics that seem stale and formulaic to me.  That's where Jason Isbell shines, and so does Andrew Marlin.

    Jason Isbell.
Last night he played acoustic in a small, local, historic theater. So, sooo good. Just him, Amanda, and Sadler Vaden. I've seen Isbell a handful of times thru the years, each time with a full backing band. He's aces in any format however acoustic seems to be his sweet spot as the stripped down sound really highlights him as a songwriter. He is, IMO, peerless among singer/songwriters of his generation.

They are gaining popularity in their home country, Australia. Their debut album was very well received here and they absolutely kill it live. I can't wait to see them live again and hope they go on to have worldwide appeal

Cool thread!  introduced me to a lot of artists I wasn't aware of so thanks for posting..  I am assuming we are staying away from solo artists that are PJ members (: and any big names like Jack White.. or Jack Johnson? (Tom Waits has already been mentioned.. and edit because Nick Cave hasn't been mentioned..)..  So I will have to say Cat Power definitely is one.. she is pure magic.. her lives are just mesmerizing and out of this world.. and then this kid Arsun opened for her and I have to say though probably too soon, I feel he needs to be on this list..  Sivert Hoyem.. Conor Oberst!..  just to name a few
Edit to add Natalie Merchant! and Norah Johnes
Ok edit to say sorry I just realized you were talking about male only singer/song writers..(:
