    What about streamed?

Looking at my record stand, I only bought about 20 new albums (live records/comps/reissues aside). But I know I've streamed around 100 new albums.

Been kind of a weak/slow year for music IMO. Nothing really stood out this year.  Kurt Vile- Bottle it In is a contender though.  Few others I really like are Ghost, Alice in Chains, Gorillaz, Good, Bad & The Queen, Django Django, BRMC, The Prodigy, The Decemberists and a couple others.

Arctic Monkeys - Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino
    Beach House - 7
  • like most recent years i bot about 15-20 new cds this year
    john butler wins
OOPS i forgot about david bryne's new cd. a stunner and easily the best live show of the year for me
and sir paul gets a special nod cause he put some songs on his new cd that blew my mind wide open...it freaks me out the diversity of the new record and how every song is a little different than the last. genius song writing++

Part of the Light - Ray Lamontagne
Another beauty. Really love the recent stuff.

    Uniform Distortion - Jim James
His best solo effort so far. Really feels like a whole album

Live From the Ryman - Jason Isbell
I know there were lots of gripes about the way this one was handled but it sounds fine to my ears. Great performances captured pretty well.

    High Water I -Magpie Salute
Fantastic music from some of my favorite musicians.

    Modern Lore - Julian Lage
Fun instrumental record from one of the best guitar players in the world. The Nels Cline record he’s a part of is neat too but this one wins on catchy compositions.

Uniform Distortion is great but Eternally Even is incredible. Took a while to appreciate just how great it is

How does the vinyl of Live at the Rhyman sound?

Like the recording. Vinyl is quiet and cut well. If you don't like the mix on the recording, the vinyl wont improve it.
