My daughter was on stage at DC 2!!!

What an amazing night it was last night. I had wanted to take my 6 year old daughter to a Pearl Jam concert and always held back based on the noise level, large size of the venue, etc. With this solo tour housed in small venues, it proved to be a great opportunity.
I had bought er a shirt that read, "I love Eddie Vedder", and she was so excited to be going. Then we arrive and find out that we are in the 6th row, was all we needed to have a spectacular evening......but it just kept getting better.
One of Ed's bodyguards came up to me a few minutes before Hard Sun and told us to follow him when he motions towards me. Then he calls us up towards the stage and allows me to put my daughter right up on stage. It was amazing! Ed then threw her a guitar pick, gave her the bouquet of flowers a fan had given him, and the set list from the show! I was able to snap one picture of him handing my daughter the flowers. It was the greatest concert experience of my life.

If any one reading this managed to get any pictures, I would love to have them.

Amazing show.....see you in Chicago!!!

She didn't stop talking about it....but in true 6 year old fashion, she asked me if she drew a picture for Eddie, would I give it to him when I saw him in Chicago. It was difficult for her to grasp that what she did wasn't normal.

All you have to do is wait for ed outside after the show in chicago, give him the picture and tell him who its from....Her idea MAY just be brilliant!!!

My wife was the typical mom, "shouldn't she be in bed?" My response, "hon it's Eddie Vedder!" I'm glad you and your daughter had a good time. Experiences and concerts such as yesterday evening sometimes only come once in a lifetime.

I was up there with you guys too. Could see on Ed's setlist that he seemed to have a lot of markings/songs crossed out. Any details you can share about the setlist as in what was on there and crossed out or on there and not played? Thanks.

absolutely awesome...it really made my day to see your daughter having such a good time...i saw her a few times just enjoying the whole thing! ed's security guy was standing right in front of me for the last few songs and he was doing a great job in keeping people back. i saw him motion for you two to move up to the stage...then he and i talked for a bit and he said "shes so cute, theres no way i CANT let her up to the stage...i have kids of my own" and we shared a few laughs. one of the coolest personal security guys ive ever met. nice to see that ed surrounds himself with people as good as he is.

highlight of the show for me: i had a good vantage point, so when, in hard sun, ed gets to the line where he says "opens up her hands"...it was beautiful to see him look directly at her, put his arms out to the side, and sing the line to her. and she is VERY good at following instructions. :-)

i really hope the dvd caught that bc, to me, that moment encapulates what this whole thing (life) is all about...

Do you have a photobucket account to link to??

Also - I hope she does draw pictures of what happened!! Even if EV doesn't see them, imagine how great it will be to keep them for her and tell her the story when she's older :)

What an absolute cutie! I can see why Eddie was smitten with her!
  • Hi.........

I was standing on the other side of you!!!

She was really cute and dancing her little heart out on that stage!

It was super cute when she sheepishly walked the few step to get the pick!

My daughter's are 5.... Kudos for you bringing her!

Maybe next tour I'll give it a try :D

Add me to the list of people who thought it was just adorable. So cute when she ran a few steps out onto the stage to get the pic. She looked like was having as good a time as anyone else in the building - waving her arms around - clapping her hands... What a great moment for both of you. Congrats!
  • How incredible! Your daughter is absolutely adorable.
