Yes America is great, because we can try to drop bombs on Obama, Clinton, CNN and Soros

That seems like a rosy view. It seems that Trump did not become a Republican but the GOP became Trump. I know some some conservatives who don't like Trump, too, but when you look at the party going all-in on this, it's hard to imagine that a critical mass is outraged by this when nobody in power dare question him (which indicates that they know the GOP voters will not stand for such behavior).njnancy said:
There are many Republicans who are not in power at the moment, who are in media or who I know that have been outraged by this President from the beginning and many of them have given up their political affiliation. There are also ones in the media and in power who have not spoken up and fallen in line - that is exactly what I wrote in my post. Those people infuriate me. But there are many ex-Repubs that have been battling this President from the get go. So let's call out the people who should be called out.Lerxst1992 said:njnancy said:
The cowardice of those in power is disgusting. There are Republicans who are outraged at what has happened. But the alt right with their false flag bullshit, which the President implied in his tweet today about the 'bombs' interrupting how well voting was going - he was told yesterday who was arrested and what his persuasion is. That is simply irresponsible. There will never be any Presidential call for everyone to step back and take a breath and be civil in our debate because he is the one who is stirring the toxic pot of stew that causes nut jobs to try to assassinate people.Bentleyspop said:

Republicans in power need to find their moral compass and condemn the toxic environment that has been caused by Trump. How is this President allowed to get away with so much crap. The bar has been lowered so far that those in power are swimming in the sea of toxicity with Trump. They are complicit.
**Most Republicans are not condoning this** and in the news that I consume which is varied and I will not give a fucking list of what I consume, there is a definite need for someone to show strength to power and condemn not only the bomber but the President's behavior.
His van is Trump's twitter feed. And if someone wants to go the false flag route - this guy has a timeline, he was not created by liberals. It is offensive. This person wanted to kill people. Wake up!
Its irrelevant what the "nice republicans" are saying. They knew trump was using hatred to divide america and build loyalty in his base and they did not speak up in protest.
In fact, every single one of them fell in line.
And the FBI and police departments and postal workers of this country need a serious thank you from all of us. The President won't give it to them but they deserve praise for doing a great job while being vilified.
This party is all-in (or at least 90% in). It's his party. And it remains the only party that matters at this point.
My gut tells me that the repubs' own internal polling showed that he was the only one who could beat Hillary out of the field of 19. However, it was so close, within the margin of error, that they couldn't take any chances, hence the knowing collusion with putin on the ritz. Once their internal polling showed them that this was their only chance to win and prevent Hillary from occupying the White House, they basically stepped aside. Do you really think none of the other candidates' campaigns didn't have opposition research showing what we all now know? Doesn't it seem oddly suspicious that none of them came after him for his failures, both personally and in the business world? It was a wink- wink, nod-nod marriage of convenience, never fully realizing what they'd done. But since we're here, hey, tax breaks for the wealthy and conservative judges all-around. They sold their souls and the chickens are coming home to roost. Going to have build a pretty large chicken coop too after Team Mueller is done gather up all those chickens. Just my gut.
This is a great point. The GOP primaries never became a 2 person race. Trump excelled when there were at least 3 top choices, where trump got the entire protest vote, and the moderate vote was always split in 2 or 3 directions.
By the time only Kasich was standing it was way too late, the nom was way out of reach for anyone else.
instead of superdelegates, the gop has a near winner take all system, so as trump was winning states 35-30% he was racking up the vast majority of delegates.0 -

I agree with you that the rank and file are in lock step and they are in a take no prisoner stance. The inability for any Republicans to say what is blatantly obvious is completely unpatriotic IMHO. Trump is stirring a dangerous pot of hate and misinformation. Interviews with Trump supporters show just how brainwashed the base is. One guy was saying that Obama either sent a bomb to himself or paid the asshole to send it to him. What? Seriously, this country has completely forgone common sense for tribalism and with no check on government at the moment, we are in a dangerous situation.Lerxst1992 said:njnancy said:
