Lyrics and the band's writing have been on my mind so I thought I'd share a few of mine and ask you guys for some of yours. 

"enmity gauged, united by fear
tried to endure what i could not forgive"
This line really hit me at Wrigley 1 this year. It was my first PJ show and hearing 30,000 other voices screaming the lyrics made me realize how powerful of a song it is. By the time Ed hit this line the second time through, I was crying my eyes out as I realized so many others had been through abuse and made it out. 

"i'll keep takin' punches until their will grows tired"
I first heard Indifference on the Worcester N1 bootleg from 2013. I was in a bad place and this song offered such inspiration to me. I wouldn't give in. That line always keeps me going.

"i am lost, i'm no guide, but i'm by your side
i am right by your side"
When I first listened to Vs. I was still in high school and had a friend who was abused by her mother at home and was just in a horrible situation all the way around. I never knew how best to help, but she always knew I was there for her and that together we'd get through. She's doing better now, but this line and Leash in general summed up my feelings well.

    One of my favorite parts of every show.  When they light-up the crowd after the word choir and you see a sea of people with their hands in the air singing "hallelujah". Goosebumps every time.

    I believe it's " You can" and not "You can't ". Great lyric either way!

    He opens the door, she rolls over, pretends to sleep as he looks her over. (goosebumps - of the flashback scary kind)

    Cannot find the candle of thought to light your name......Memories like fingerprints are slowly raising.

    RVM "It wasn't my service most defiled"  - such a deep lyric

    Love Boat Captain "and the young they can lose hope because they can't see beyond today, the wisdom that the old can't give away"

    Man of the Hour "this is just goodbye for now"

    Alive "You're still alive she said, oh but do I deserve to be, is that the question, and if so, if so who answers? who answers?"

    These are both great (though I'd say "We were but stones; your light made us stars").  And the first one is the probably the one that's directly helped me more than any other.

    That said, I'll go pretty basic with "I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine."

    "I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me" -  as a stage IV cancer patient I still look around the treatment facility and think this, seriously. 

    "Push me and I will resist, this behavior's not unique" - its just me. 

    "I’ll ride the wave where it takes me. I hold the pain, Release me" 

    2 of the three songs when heard live absolutely kick my ass now, ugly cry.  But I find myself extremely emotional over the last year
