evolution at fenway 1

I have heard this song probably a thousand times.While I was in the crowd, stone side pretty close, I was thinking that the song sounded way off for some reason. I felt like there was a guitar not plugged in or the mix was way off. Anyway when I heard the bootleg again on Sirius the other day, my feeling wasw confirmed...it sounded awful.. lack flow and punch.   Any one else notice that if so what went wrong????/

    saw somewhere they were downtuned by mistake?  I think the night of the concert, the band realized it and was kind of laughing about it and just went with it.   Can't remember where I saw this talked about

    Think it was in the fan review thread someone mentioned Stone started playing it on the same guitar from the previous song which was tuned down, and they just went with it.

    Right after the song someone next to me asked me if i thought that was a bad version? And i thought it was the worse version of DTE i've heard. (Haven't listen to the Boot yet.) HEY! ther human>SHIT happens.

    I’m all for different tunings or variations in songs. Any sort of curveball that strays from the general PJ formula is a good thing in my opinion.

    I thought the same thing. I remember watching the screen and seeing Ed look confused for a second then smiling in Stone's direction. Probably just a wrong guitar.

    they've tuned down for DTE before 
    i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

    Definitely seemed like a mistake to me. Got Some was tuned down and it looked like Stone just jumped right into DTE. He and Jeff were laughing about it throughout and Ed looked pretty confused. Once I got over the initial shock I actually thought it was pretty cool. Makes it feel more plodding and dark
