    Oh yeah. Stupid wild card
Stupid? Without it the Yankees wouldn’t be in it. Season over, go play golf. That said, the Yankees are showing signs of life and it’s baseball as it should be. Personally, I like their chances. Sox pitching looks spent.

    “spent” like you?

get out of the spankees thread, you fucking troll!

Some of the stats this person tweets are just idiotic...
That's baseball now. They'll take a low average and high strikeouts if you can hit homeruns. And it's not an idiotic stat. It's just saying that high pct of his hits are for extra base hits.  It's a minimum of 300 PA. If it was 30 PA then it wouldn't mean anything. He also missed a month at least and is 12 away from 30 hr.
The only player that I can recall that made a career out of this "baseball now" hit a HR or strike out was Kingman.  No one else had longevity.  So if this is the new norm I don't see a bunch of players lasting.

Also players have a lot of SO's but they also are hitting for average.  Players like Renfroe, Schwarber and Calhoun won't be around much longer.  Eventually you need to get on base and manufacture runs unless you're the Yankees.  That team was amazing this year with their HR's...

Why do you think teams aren't able to hit with the bases loaded anymore? They're all trying to hit homers

    LET'S GO!

Get past the one game and anything can happen.  This one game makes me nervous but that stadium is gonna be wild and this team can hit.

I want to play Boston so badly.

The A's bullpenning this game is making me nervous.  Not a huge fan of these guys not getting multiple at bats against a pitcher.

It's the new "metrics" and analysis of the game now.  The Yanks can do it too with starting pitcher, Betances and Chapman.  You cann throw Justus in the mix too.  No one has really seen him yet?  He is supposed to be a big arm.

The Yanks can, and I expect them to have an incredibly short leash on whoever starts, just makes me nervous for the Yanks bats.

Sheffiled I guess could make this roster for the one game just because they don't need all the starters, but if he pitches, the Yanks are in big big trouble.

Sevy.  Can't argue going with your best pitcher.  I'd still go Happ but nevermind, Let's GO YANKS!

Severino for a few innings then it's use the WHOLE bullpen.

If the crowd gets loud and wakes up the bats it's lights out.  Yanks win.

This should be a good game though.  Let's see.

I absolutely hate the late start.  Why they can't have first pitch at 7:05 is beyond me.

    It is called West Coast.
I agree with you as far as getting sleep but you cannot have prime time when a big portion of the country is still at work

Then why have playoff games in the afternoon?

    Good question.

The reason for Monday was due to the travel needs (I am guessing) but when they have them on other days, is it because they want to space out a bunch of games and make sure they can have advertising dollars associated with games that will have singular attention at that time?
Would have to see an example to try and theorize but I dont know the actual answer.  (I do know that for solo games like tonight they want to get as many eyeballs as they can.  At least it is an 8:00 instead of a 9:00 start like MNF used to be -- remember that?  MacGyver for an hour 8-9 and then MNF?  I rarely got to see the end of those games!)

I love and hate this feeling so much.  The anticipation of playoff baseball. The excitement. The nervousness. The pit in my stomach that makes it feel like I have to poop for an entire day!

    LET'S GO YANKS!
