    Their products are of high quality in my opinion as well. Ive also read their sales have soared in the time right after this "stunt" as you call it. I think it was a great idea by Nike. Considering what the black athletes have done for their brand, I think it was a great choice for them to take a stand.

    I doubt it. No action will please everybody. Better to alienate a few of the dinosaurs and in the process capture many new customers.

    Not if it draws a positive distinction against a competitor, it isn't bad.  Nike knows who buys 5 pairs of shoes a year... and it's not 55 year old white guys.  Nike knows how Colin is perceived in the international market.  They have now drawn, in their mind, a positive distinction against Under Armour and Adidas.  It's actually a brilliant move.

    It doesn't.
    What Nike did was alienate customers they didn't care about anyhow, and gave itself a long-term boost by ingratiating itself with the customers they do care about. As someone already stated, Nike isn't worried about losing their moronic racist American patriot-crowing white customers (which I'm going to say, on a positive note, doesn't include very many people at all in the scheme of things). Clearly.

    A bad business move would be trying to appease every customer's personal fetishes. It's not like they promoted violence and hate.
