    I didn't take that as what he said at all.
    The conversation went from Mcgruff saying our wars are because of 9/11. Often made the giant leap to assuming that meant all wars are because of 9/11, and pointed out the very obvious fact that we've been at wars before 9/11. Gruff corrected the obvious by saying of course not, just wars sense. So then that was taken as him saying "shut up if your not American."
    Some crazy leaps in there.
    And also, the entire country wanted to go to war on September 12. Everyone, on both sides. Not just the war-loving. Going to war wasn't the problem. Not having an end-game was.
