In almost 30 years of selling show posters.... there are only 19 posters available today in the 10club shop

That's only because they haven't had their mystery poster sale yet.  if they didn't do those, there would be hundreds of posters in the shop, and sitting in a wherehouse taking up space and money.
You won't get my support for this worn out thread any more than any of the others did.  it's just stuff.  it just can't be sooooooo important that it needs this much conversation every day.

Folks loved those mystery box sales!

My only real thought on the whole thing is that if people want limited edition merch, but they want everyone who wants it to have easy access to it without paying flippers... then those people are going to be disappointed.

  • When you purchase your 10Club tickets, there could be a box to check if you want setlist shirt and/or poster. Just limit it to those two items. They can still sell them at the venues, too.
When the trailers arrive back wherever they’re headquartered, they can sell the remaining stuff in the shop.
Exactly it’s really not that complicated. They did it in ‘09 with the Spectrum shows. Worked out fine

Until they are ugly and the mob feels taken advantage of since they were uninformed of the image when they buy it

and what happens if they are pre-tubed and you get home to see it was mangled before you could even seen it

Then those people can simply select not to presale and can stand in line.

I’m probably in the minority on this.....but I’m not a fan of 4 or 5 different artists/posters per show.

i miss one poster design for the show(s).

It would only take 1 tour/year where they offer all merch online right after the tour ends (could do it on and off monthly based on supply and demand, could be delay in shipping) for the flippers to be nervous for a decade in spending $$$ on endless stuff that will sit in their closet at home.  Even setting an expectation right before the tour of "We appreciate that there can sometimes be challenges with our merch situation and will do our very best to offer our highest demand tour items after the tour if possible" or something.   It would set a new precedent.   I mean how great would it be for these same people that do it year after year to get completely burned one year?  What a game changer and life lesson.    I don't think it's the fans making a really solid living that are wasting their time for 9 hours in a great city to stand in line to make $5,000 turn into $10,000 over the course of ebay listings for 3 years vs having beers with fellow jammers and taking in the city.  I'd feel a little bad for them to have thrown away a significant chunk of their income to basically lose it all, but then I would think of the handful of posters that I want on my wall that I can't get my hands on for less than $500 and say screw em...     It would completely change the conversation.    Especially posters, stickers, buttons, etc that are a 1,000% markup for the PJ enterprise + net shipping revenue..    I don't think there are many of us fans that look at the framed posters that are on our wall and primarily think about how much they are worth on Ebay but instead the experience we had if we went to that show/city and/or the great artwork..  am I making sense or just frustrated?  I'm pretty fascinated by the economics behind it all.  It's like if back in the 80s and early 90s baseball cards were only available at the stadiums for those players :)

Yep. There is a reason why they don't do this anymore. Not to mention all the complaints they must have gotten. Yes, some PJ fans are pretty pretty whiny. There was a ton of overstock of the Seattle posters from what I remember. How are they supposed to determine the demand for the regular sale when there is a presale? Its just not that black and white.

I agree. 1 poster for N1, 1 poster for N2. Not 5 for both shows combined.
If they had only 1 poster I'd probably pre-order it blind. If there were 5 I probably wouldn't do any of them blind, or maybe just 1 and hope its the one I end up liking.

Agree wholeheartedly with this Idea, but it's also been suggested a million times on here and it's obvious the current System is never going to change. Sad!

For setlist shirts I see no argument. Let us preorder and pick up the next day or have it mailed to us. There is no artist to support.
I agree on this. I know a lot of people leave right after the concert and can't get a setlist shirt . I have to leave for home right after tonight's show and I,  and im' sure others are leaving,  won't be around the next day to buy a shirt. There should be a way for those to still be able to buy a setlist shirt.

Nearly 30 years of show posters, and only 19 are sitting available in the shop.  There is room to sell more, and there is data available to show how many more they could reliably sell.  I'm not willing to pretend that the folks in charge of merch don't have this info available.

So people want to get rid of flippers, AND have limited edition merchandise readily available to all who want it?  I don't think we can have it both ways, that's just now how it works.
if thgere wasnt the briliant idea for mystery poster sales they will have thousand of posters sit on the their storage unsold

The things you own (or in this case, want to own) end up owning you.

    Dear Ten Club,

I'm sure you're aware of the number of posters, shirts, hats, etc. being sold for exorbitant prices on eBay, immediately after they first go on sale at concerts. Fans have little opportunity to get these items at the shows and wind up paying these unfair eBay prices
fattening the wallets of flippers who do nothing but hurt this great community. That money could go direct to the Ten Club, or even better, go to support worthy charities.

To solve this problem, please consider offering posters, setlist shirts and other items for sale online directly to Ten Club members who have purchased tickets through the club for those specific shows. You could even offer these items in a bundle and charge an extra dollar or two for charities.

    Thanks for considering!
So 50-60 hours of sales at outside merch stands, 2 nights of inside merch stands during the shows with 10-12 different stands open, artists drops and 10 Club drops equal LITTLE opportunity to purchase merch?? NO ONE says you have to buy anything on eBay. If you don't like the price, wait for it to fall or don't buy it. Also, 10 Club is NOT in charge of merch at the shows, MrTsurt is, so complaining to 10 Club won't do anything.

The fact is, no one is entitled to anything. If you want something bad enough, put in the time and effort to get it.

Please count the hours where the merch being sought after was available. Mumford 45 mins first day after waiting over 2 hrs, same story next day... Mumford probably clocks in at less than 1 hr availability each day ONLY if you queued hours earlier.

So now you are talking about 1 specific item, the OP was not. Again, you have multiple opportunities to purchase outside, inside at the venue for 2 separate shows, artists drops and the 10 Club drop. If you want it bad enough, line up earlier.

Welcome!
