Just out of curiosity, has Pearl Jam ever canceled/postponed a concert due to rain?  I'm almost 50 so I need to rely on others for memory at this point in life =)
They canceled one in South America this year. Its not the rain, its lightning that is the problem.
That was the rain and wind though. It fucked the grounds up pretty bad. That night wasn't even that bad as far as I remember.

Tuesday thunderstorms now. WE GOT THIS!!

If memory serves, they didn't cancel.  The government of Argentina canceled it for them.

  • We are flying in Saturday morning. Reserve seating for saturday and monday shows. Flying out Tuesday morning. THis weekend will be my first and second PJ concerts. Hope to see both of them. Between plane tickets, hotel, Uber and train passes, boarding the dogs, airport parking, 2 vacation days, it should be all worth it. However, I wont be able to extend the trip if Monday gets cancelled and moved to Tuesday

    Wrigley 8/18/18
    Wrigley 8/20/18
    Fenway 9/2/2018
    Fenway 9/4/2018

  • Finger crossed it all the weather moves to Tuesday but packing a rain jacket and poncho to be safe.

Lyft around the city is sometimes faster than uber.
Air & Water Show too. If you’re new to Lyft they discount  your first 10 rides.

I pulled a single from TM as the show came closer.
    Row D, Stones Side
    Ticket marked Obstruction
It was the speaker wall in front of me. Stage lights helped stay warm. No idea how the hill people survived.
Took the farmers roads back to Chi. Sunroof open, huge moon, heater on high, blasting PJ Verona or Milan.
I still carry that stub, I want it autographed!

And of course this is the show I win backstage passes for.  Uuuuuuuugggggghhhhhhh

Backstage????  Nice!  How'd you end up with those?  Hopefully things work out for Monday...
I won them through global citizen. I was so pumped and now I am so deflated.
You serious man? If so, I REALLY hope they get this one in for your sake. Let Mother Nature be on our side!
I am dead serious. I am on Pearl Jam’s guest list! I am still taking it all in.
A weather delay would be good for you.  More time being backstage with the band.
Now that, sir, is a prime example of finding the good in things!

I mean have they been played in the subsequent shows?

Monday through Tuesday: A trough somewhat detached from the large-
scale flow will drift eastward across the central Great Plains on
Sunday before phasing with long-wave troughing over central Canada
Monday through Tuesday. This will support the development of an
anomalously strong low pressure for mid-August, with ensemble
guidance already showing an anomaly of two standard deviations for a
1010 mb low. However, most deterministic models and individual GEFS
solutions show a low more on the order of 1005-1007mb passing over
the CWA early Tuesday morning. Fairly strong low-level moisture
transport of 2" PWAT values northeastward into the region will
support a large shield of rain with pockets of heavy rain.
Conditions will deteriorate from SW to NE Monday afternoon, with the
greatest focus for widespread showers Monday evening. Showers should
diminish in coverage as the low shifts NE on Tuesday, but a
lingering area of deformation stretching west to east just north of
the CWA may shift far enough south to continue more persistent
showers well into Tuesday across northern portions of the CWA.

With this set-up, the potential exists for localized flooding,
particularly for locations that have had several rounds of heavy
precip over the past week or so. Any individual showers/storms
should have enough movement to minimize high rainfall potential at
any particular location over a short period of time. In addition to
the localized flooding threat, a highly conditional threat for
strong to severe storms exists Monday afternoon and evening. Poor
mid-level lapse rates will limit instability, but if enough
instability is generated ahead of the shower activity, deep layer
shear surpassing 30 knots, including 0-3km shear of 25 knots, will
support gusty winds with any showers/storms. The main focus would be
across southeastern portions of the CWA.
