Sunday would probably never happen. MAYBE Tuesday if Monday becomes impossible. But I agree, more unlikely than likely.
  • Here is the link to the same conversation in 2013 - just for laughs!  Monday will happen.

  • Fingers crossed that it's just some rain not severe storms! First time GA for PJ and I am super excited.

and FWIW, the dark sky forecasts for Wrigley Field are much more promising.  Saturday night looks great and calling for light rain for small window during show on Monday. I think all of this moisture coming up out of the lake is gonna push off to the east and hit Altoona.

Moving a show to another night isn't anywhere as easy as some seem to think. I'll bet moving days isn't even an option.
I disagree that it isn't an option but I agree that it isn't a decision they make lightly.
If it wasn’t an option why have have the day off in between? Totally an option
That plus the fact that anytime you have an outdoor event you would have to consider contingencies.  I'd guess they even have separate insurance for the costs of rescheduling vs. just canceling.

When was the last time they played back to back nights? I know they did it once this year, but I think that was a festival, with a shorter setlist.   They typically dont plan back to backs unless they are festivals, correct?   I think they want the rest inbetween days, typically.

Amsterdam this year.  Florida, Philly, NY in 2016.  I think the off days are more about travel for the crew/gear than his voice, but who knows.  For these shows maybe it was for his voice and/or weather flexibility.

It was supposed to storm the past few days but we really didn't get anything.

This W.M.A. has been following the Black forecast since early this week. So far it's been getting worse with each Future Days leading up till that Faithful monday where it's Go time. Since it can't really get must worse (no Hail, Hail or Lightning Bolt), I'm hoping the never Infaillible forecast Pendulum swings the other way and gets Better man.

Forecast says heavy thunderstorms on Monday afternoon/evening... crazy amount of rain. Bring the ponchos, but if this turns into 2013 again... yuck.

Do they they still have that kind of pull in city hall?  Seems like a one time only thing boosted by the spectacle of their first Wrigley show.

The thing is, in 2013, the storm eventually ended with enough time to get in the gig. The forecast right now is worse than 2013. Even if it's not storms the whole time, the sheer amount of rain (calling for over an inch!) is gonna make the field floor VERY slick. For a guy with a very bad back sitting on the field in section M, this won't end well. Call me selfish, but move this show to Sunday.

You're right.  Plus it's the wind and lightning that we really have to worry about and the wind forecast is 10-11mph max as of now.  I hate the new format of Dark Sky but love that forecast as of now.

Don’t worry. I’m going to go out and buy all the ponchos, umbrellas, rain pants and water proof shoes. It’ll be sunny then for sure!

They canceled one in South America this year. Its not the rain, its lightning that is the problem.

That was for flooding. The venue, which was next to the Ohio River, was under water.
