    My guess - and it’s completely a guess and I have no proof to back it up - is that it’s the first day they are allowed to sell their copies and we all know a lot of artists survive on this.  These AP copies are most likely their payment for their work.  So to try and cash in at the earliest possible time is the best thing for them.  Sell while it’s hot, fresh in people’s minds, and to get that hard earned money in your pocket.

    It seemed like once the shows were imminent, the line situation ballooned into laughably long wait times

    They might be doing a limited run for each home away show to attract attention and get you to come back.

    Good marketing ploy.

    They only made 5000 of this one compared to 10,000 of the rest.
