Seattle Merch lines ( a positive experience)

I might be in the minority on this but my merch line experience wasn't all that bad.  I got there right from the airport Tuesday morning, waited about an hour and a half and got everything that I wanted.  As a waited I met many PJ fans that came from all across the world and it helped pass the time.  I found it funny how many people were on my flight that we also saw in line.  Glad my madness isn't isolated.

    I have a tendency of talking too much to random people.  So maybe their experience wasn't as good because some Canadian wearing a red Pearl Jam Detroit 2014 concert tee wouldn't shut up.  lol......

    BINGO!!!! I find it easier to talk to people in merch and GA lines rather than at the pre shows.....WOW!!! I sound like an old man.  " get off my lawn you mangy kids, i'm trying to watch Matlock"

    Agree 100%. For anyone who thinks the merch line or GA line is a waste, they should read this. Made friends in both. It’s a great opportunity meeting like minded rabid fans from literally all over the world. By the end of my trip to Seattle, I was friends with people from Australia and Europe as well as all over the US. We shared food and water in the lines, looked out for each other in the pit and hugged like lifelong friends at the end of the show. I had 3 extra days to see the city, so my time in the merch and GA lines were in no way wasted.

    I  kinda feel the same way D-Rod, I'm Canadian also w/o the 2014 Detroit tee. While it never takes anything to get me out of my shell and while random strangers to some degree I assume they're PJ fans most likely which in my mind kind of breaks down a lot of barriers assuming they share the huge passion for this band and their music and values. A lot of highlights this weekend for me were convo's with random fans be it in restaurants, transit, bars wherever. Hopefully the feeling was mutual for the odd one. lol.

    Wednesday Night: I went through the 10c GA line, skipped everyone rushing to the merch stands on the main concourse, walked right up to the 300 level merch stands and was 4th in line. Took 10 minutes (including climbing the stairs) and got everything I wanted. It was awesome.

    I brought a 100 watt boom box out & played Pearl Jam music for the people waiting in those massively long merch lines on Monday & Thursday, had a lot of fans come up and give me fist bumps & high fives & words of encouragement, was definitely stoked to be able to make other PJ fans wait easier to deal with.
