What is the etiquette for getting in the Imerch line by 9 a.m. I am heading over but don't want to contribute to any MERCH angst people are having - is there an orderly way to queue before 9 a.m.?
I thought I read that on show days the tent opened at 9 and it said no line up before 7 am so you should be good.

Yup, confirmed we have been lined up across the street. Not sure how long this will take since the shop hasn't opened yet. Might move quick once it opens.

I got there Tuesday at 1:30 and was just outside the fence and was out with my stuff at 4:30. About 2 hrs 15min in the outside line and 45min in the tent.

If you are going bring sunscreen and water!! That line outside was hot!

It seems late in Day 1 or Day 2 is the sweet spot for these things. One surge of locals right away then a second surge once the out-of-towners arrive.

I don't think there is a sweet spot for waiting in line for merch for hours.

I was outside the 6 fenced switchback lines at 8:30 and am now through 3 of them. If this pace keeps up I’ll be inside the tent at 11:30 and possibly out by show time.
  • Brutal. They sold out last night of some stuff I wanted but at least I was only there 3 hours.

  • Why isn't there a popup merch stand in addition like at Wrigley in '16? Sure seems more than one location is needed.

Got there at 2 pm, it took me 2:30 hours. The 2 t-shirts and the poster I wanted to buy were sold out.... people were buying like 20 posters each. I wish they would limit the qty.
It is total nonsense that they don't limit the quantities. I would love to know why in the world they aren't bothering to.

Best move is to get to venue at doors and scoot to a merch stand farther from the entrance.

Not according to several people who saw people buy huge amounts of each item. If they intended to limit the quantities, at least some of the people working the tents aren't bothering to do so from what I'm reading. Maybe some oversight is in order.

The limits are on each specific item. If there are 18 different style shirts they are allowed 36 shirts and so and and so on. I think an overall limit is needed or a quick line.

In 2013 people lined up for merch for up to 7 hours during a brutal heat wave. I couldn't believe people were willing to do it. I would only do that for a free house or something like that, lol.
