    Immortality and All or None are amazing and the guitar solos rock. Parting Ways is just plain powerful. I love Release, but it's the weakest studio cut for me of the 4. 


    Why are we mentioning Release? I’m confused 
    We got a little off topic talking about album closers.
    Sorry, I'm brutal for this kind of thing. 
    (And yes, I much prefer live versions of Release - it wouldn't make my top 20 if I just considered the studio version).

    On topic....Rival live is amazing and I would have included it in my top 10 earlier but I tried to just go with studio stuff...although maybe I should remove Unthought Known...I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've listened to Backspacer (not a word of a lie). I just know all the songs from the bootlegs.

    I love Rival, live and studio, but I think Ed steps it up live, at least back in '00 anyway.

    And I'm in the minority in that I really like Backspacer. Great album. I usually listen to it a few times in a row because it's so short. For me, Lightning Bolt was their first uneven album.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    Hold On would have been a killer track on 10 though I am unsure where it would fit in.
